Need help with my Dual Wield Cyclone Duelist

Hello everyone.

I am still a newbie at this game, playing it on Xbox, loving the game.

I need some help, guidance, pointers as where to go with my character.

Here is the link to my character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/xbox/view-profile/Igneus+DarkSide/characters?characterName=Belua

My character is a Dual Wielding Cyclone Duelist. Its my first character and I tried to follow some building guides, but I know its not perfect. Nowhere close to being perfect.

I am level 86, running some maps with my wife (L86 Elementalist Minion Witch) and I am just not dishing out enough damage or being killed to easily... We are currently running maps around Tier 4-6. Anything more is a suicide.

Any pointers would be much appreciated. Any skill to change, some passive to try to reroll, equipment to get....

Thank you all in advance.

mostly, your gear needs more life.

your boots have 0.
your belt has 18
your chest has 35
your helm has 54.

boots, belt, and helm should all have 60+, and your chest should have 80+

you probably want to keep the chest, because it has 6 links. you can definitely recraft it though, either with fossils OR essence.

just getting more life in each of these slots will allow you to survive longer, and a couple more levels will get you a LOT of % life nodes on your passive tree.
1.low crit rate, crit damage, replace mana flask with diamond flask and find other mana source.

2.replace your jewelry, looking for 5-6 useful mods like flat phy, life, accuracy, Dex, crit rate, crit damage, resist, mana gain on hit, reduce mana cost for channeling skill.

3.your helm gloves boots are good for now but find new swords and belt ASAP, rare Foil is ideal, find new pair with better Dps within your budget.

4.start using Cluster jewel.

upgrade your item is very simple, start by looking for 5-6 useful mod instead of 2-3 mods then after you upgrade all of them the next step is looking for the higher tier that gives more stat than the old one.

Thank you. This is rather helpfull.
Changing my belt and flaskes first.
Improving gear won't help you much, there are core issues it can't solve.

To start with ascendancy. Why glad? You are neither block, nor bleed. Why not champ instead.

What is this build about? Impale crit sword? Why for. Crit doesn't work together with impale. It's even poorly supported crit.
Min-maxing damage is either getting rid of impale (and all the fortify nodes) and going full crit, or building non-crit impale with focus on -% phys reduction.

This build is squishy even by SC standards. Especially having in mind that your main defense is...fortify. Nothing else.
Mind that over investing in offence nodes is counter productive, your main sources of damage with phys build are flat damage from weapons/jewels and more multiplier supports.

You badly need more HP by nodes and gear. It's also a pretty good idea to figure out another layer of defense and work over it. Anything.
I understand it's a SC build and all, but as long as you insist on doing at least high yellow maps, you can't go full yolo. There are standards in SC as well - first because you'd like to run high content, second you wouldn't like losing exp at higher char lvl.

If you clarify in details what exactly build you wanna do - offensively and defensively, you may get improved version(s) of it. Which you can further modify by your taste.

i don't think glad is a bad choice but of cause, not the best, I don't want to mention it because he is new to the game and it's good for him to experience it himself and enjoy the game the way he wants to.

2.Crit impale is a thing, and it's a damn powerful combination.

3.his defense layer is not the best, of cause, but it's good enough for an lv.86 standard character, this kind of thing need currency and level, which obviously he lacks both of them, but he will get there eventually.

This way you're encouraging him for even more mistakes.
He's here asking for help for a reason.

1. We all know why he specced glad, but the cheap scaling of AoE ruins both his survivability and damage.
The other way around is scaling AoE by + weapon range (there are plenty of nodes) and pulverize. And this way he can improve defenses by getting some block. And minimize dying over and over in shit tier content.
Not to mention that speccing into champ is where funky damage comes from, when building around impale. If we are about damage. Not glad.

2. Everything is a thing, subjectively. Objectively, there are too many juicy crit nodes (crit+mult) in the duelist area, to scale his damage. And it will scale better than mediocre crit + impale.

3. He literally has no layers. What are you talking about. His only defense is slightly buffed fortify. Literally. No HP, pathetic block chance, not even evasion, armor, zilch.
At 86 a char is already in the lategame territory, consider his build almost completed. The majority of (sane) players rarely push above 91-93. Do you really think he could improve all the flaws his build has in 5-7 levels? C'mon.

Anyway, won't comment on it anymore. Whatever.

on what? having fun with a game? lol.

when the molten strike is still alive i play it with 5 different ascendencies and each one of them has a unique taste for the gameplay, you don't need to pick the most effective one to enjoy the game.

2.you have no clue about pure phys crit impale.

3.he have 10k+ armour fortify molten shell, good enough for an lv. 86 character.
Thank you all for your help, you dont need to fight over me :)
I appreciate all the pointers I got.
Get belly of the beast chest to sort your health and the saviour legion sword for dps... these 2 should be a nice upgrade to work towards but will cost about 3exalts or so for both.
