Stress-Free PoE! RIGHTEOUS GOLEMS (RF): No Required Items! 1-Button Play! SSF League Start-End! 3.12

I could use some help, not sure if i just switched to ragefire too soon, or if im doing something wrong. (character purk_witch)

the damage seems really low. across the board. im also super brittle.
im only running heists right now to level up before i tank my resists, so currently am running full resists due to having no debuffs yet, but still feel like im either missing something critical or not understanding some important point.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

Your damage is probably rather low because you use wands and seem to focus on spell damage. Spell damage doesn't help Righteous Fire. Wrecker_of_Days has provided a list in his guide with all kinds of damage types that support Righteous Fire.

The amulet and the gloves don't help too much, either, because all they have to offer is... spell damage.

You would be much better off with a sceptre, since most of them have an implicit bonus to elemental damage. On top of it they call roll mods that are useful for Righteous Fire.

Rare gloves with life and resistances would be something I would be looking for. In general, you'll feel much less brittle as soon as as most of your gear has decent life rolls on it. Life = damage + survivability for this build.

Do you use Enduring Cry regularly? Enduring Cry triggers Inspiration, giving you inspiration charges. Without these charges the inspiration linked to Righteous Fire would be pointless.

Good luck and have a good time!

So managed to level my witch to level 86, and got around 950k RF damage.

https://pastebin.com/Erq6QJfN

But Sirus was just impossible to do. Every single attack he does kills me so lost all 6 portals. Damage is quite awsome in this build but not sure if it can kill Sirus on awakening 8.
Might be that i have taken some passives that are no good or just unlucky in the fight.

Miss the days of facetanking Sirus with RF Jugg :)

Any idea how to beef up the survivability on this would be appreciated.
Hey LeeTeex!

Ya this build isn't a face tank build. Like most builds, we're trying to avoid all of Sirus' damage completely. Though there's lots of mitigation with this build, it's not a Sirus tanker.

As you've already dismantled the gear on your RF build, I can't really tell you where to go but good luck with your new builds!

Most of my gear is on my RF jugg now, exept chest and gloves since i use Kaom on that one. Can't afford to buy duplicats of the gear so have to move it between them :)
Hey guys,

I'm currently lv 81 on hc heist league, and I'm just wondering what should I improve first.

I still don't have a solid 6L, and not sure how I feel about my flasks.
I think phys dmg reduction is low (~34% with golem)

Any tips to improve my gear?

Hey HurkWurk!

So one thing to remember is that RF is the hardest skill in the game to level/setup.

Your resists at the moment aren't capped at the max which hurts sustaining RF and survivability against elemental damage.

You've been picky going through the tree so you'll have to consider the pros and cons of the nodes you've passed including the Ascendancy order.

In terms of survivability, most of your gear has really low, or no, life rolls. That, along with resists that aren't capped, will always make life rough. So if dying is something that drives you nuts, you'll want to prioritize rares with life and resists over having gear with the proper colour sockets while levelling.

So in short, cap your resists (or at least your fire resist) and fill out each "tree branch" in the tree you pass for a nice balanced investment of offence and defence. Life mods on gear helps too.

But remember, you're levelling. So the gear may not be dropping for you. Just keep an eye out. You have to take what's given to you. So as long as you're not passing by anything that can help you, you're not doing anything wrong.

I hope that helps!

Found another interesting item for this build:

Not only does it give you an extra % maximum fire resist, it also save you two gem slots that you can CWDT damage spells with, which means your Flammability will have an even greater uptime :-)

Hey fabiosakiyama!

Your gear looks great! It's just a matter of progress now. I like your Atlas dropped basetypes and the life and secondary rolls are all legit for sure. So the next stage, if you're SSF, is waiting for that helmet to drop that has 100 life (with resists) instead of 89, a 6-link instead of a 5-link...stuff like that. Influenced items are great steps forward as well. Oh! Your weapon can be a focus point. Finding a Void Sceptre, or any sceptre, that has a DOT Multiplier on it with 80+ increased damage would be a nice boost. I think your flasks are fine. Flasks are 100% dependant on your playstyle. So make sure they are only to your liking. I find Quartz flasks a must with my builds as they are a MASSIVE part of survivability for me with how I play RF. I have them set to remove freeze so that I always have a means of escape.

I think your gear looks great! (Don't forget about the pantheon in terms of physical damage reduction you were mentioning.)

ok i've read through the wiki on it and now understand better what you are talking about. i did not realize that "damage over time" was separated from "spell damage". i had been stacking spell damage while leveling since i wasnt using RF yet, and it had the best return on damage for the other spells i was using.

I was originally under the impression that RF was more like ignite, in that it used its based damage modified by spell damage to calculate its burning damage, but i see that they substituted life and shield in its place.

I will work on retooling things. I have plenty of gear from heists, so it shouldnt take long, and i can switch back to spells until i get what i need.

It is indeed confusing that Righteous Fire itself is a spell, but that spell damage doesn't support it, because RF doesn't hit.

I am sorry that I didn't explain it better in my reply to your posting.

I have seen that you already changed some of your gear. The sceptres look fine! How are things going now?

Have a good time, exile!
