[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

When we were theory crafting, I did an estimate that put us around 50-60ex for a solid end game build.

But I think now with the buffs, we could be looking at 80-100ex to get a good end game build.

That might be a little high. I didn't keep track of all the prices I paid, but I'm estimating I probably spent around 70ex on my character while doing all this testing. That included three different skin of the lords to try different color and keystone combos, both a Crown with Incinerate enchant and a Viridi's with incinerate enchant, and a +2 amu for testing EO version before going to crit version.

Edit: actually two crowns with Incinerate enchant since after giving one away I decided I wanted to test it again. Lol

I have been looking for other options as a starter in case prices are high and found this holy flame totem build from SSF that uses an extremely similar tree to the Asenath's version. Maybe an option while saving currency if this is really expensive this league?

With the gem changes released I just noticed this build could also fit winter orb. After the buffs it now has 150% more projectile frequency while channeling. (plus buffed base damage) If you treated the skill as if it worked the same as incinerate where you just channel to get more dps and it stops when you start running... you still end up with really good single target dps. Taking advantage of the high dps requires a build that can stand still without a care in the world and guess what? . I think winter orb will be weak for bossing on builds that have to run around and dodge stuff but having a 150% more damage multiplier for standing still is huge.

But winter orb has the obvious benefit of letting you clear packs while running.

I think running this build with the setup adapted for either Lightning Tendrils or Winter Orb will be really good in 3.17

I am getting angina trying to figure out whether to league start our baby or just run something else for a week and get some currency. :)

I leveled once with Holy Flame Totems and it was very smooth. There are so many choices out there to league start. I must have seen 65 videos already :)

exactly what I was thinking! but I was also thinking about using winter orb as a variant of the build but without touching the tree or gear as i still want to play incinerate.

since we have avatar of fire, we can just swap fire penetration for cold to fire support to fully convert winter orb to fire dmg.

the result is a significant increase in DPS without helmet enchant! maybe we can consider just switch to winter orb and scale cold instead.

Edit: ignore me...had a brain fart...the damage actually dropped significantly: from 12 million to 1.5 million in my tree lol (thought i saw 15 million).

You need GMP in your links and the dps is multiplied by 3-5 because of multiple explosions hitting. Plus I don't know if that included the bonus from channeling.

I dont think winter orb have nearly as much damage as incinerate on single target.

winter orb has a significantly lower base per hit damage (~50% lower at high level)
incinerate stages give more damage (250% more at stage 10)
winter orb stages give more projectile hit rate...but the base hit rate is so low (every 1.6 seconds) so even with the buff, the hit rate is just gonna be half of incinerate's cast rate (assuming 100% increased cast speed from tree/gear)

even if you use GMP and multiply winter orb's damage by 5 it's still gonna be a lot lower + GMP has a dmg penalty where incinerate can use another support gem to further boost the dmg.

But the skill is definitely superior for mapping so im still considering using winter orb + cold to fire to map and incinerate for single target :)
So I managed to get my hands on a 3B 3R Pain Attunement Skin of the Lords! cts_Sc1sSorS posted a cool POB with this item a while back and I'll be trying it out as soon as I get all my gems corrupted.

Price was 10ex in Standard, but I'm sure with how RNG heavy SotL is that tells us nothing about what it would cost in league anyway :(



P.S. What's the price of a Tainted Oil in early days of a league? It's required to anoint Leadership's Price and it's currently sitting at ~3ex each.
