To counter the smaller AOE of Concentrated effect, some of us have anointed Deep Breaths and added Increased AOE to Infernal Cry.

Hey, Andy - Had to call this one out. This mod in particular is a silly amount of fun.

So good. Explosive hilarity. Thanks for mentioning.

Cool!!

I honestly have no actual idea if it is an "optimal" set up but we play games to have fun and holy hell is this a fun combo :)

It is so addicting when a dense screen and a half go "poof" in a nano second in Scourge....I can close my eyes and hear the explosion! lol

While it is far from a priority, I may even add an Awakened Increased AOE to add a touch more reach off screen :)

tiny T rex arms reach on Incinerate.

'Like' on this comment :D

I want to ask about this. Does aoe radius affects maximum reach of incinerate? It’s the maximum reach that is most of the problem for me… when I fight shaper a longer reach would be much appreciated.

I think it does effect it, at least according to POB.

If you go into the Calc window and then select incin as your skill, look for a box called "Skill type-specific stats" In here you will find the detailed information on the Incinerate length and width.

I experimented with adding Increased AOE to the Incin setup and POB shows the Incin length getting bigger. You can play with it to see how AOE effects the numbers.

I made a couple of small, yet impactful improvements today to my build.

I finally got myself corrupted blood immunity.

And I picked up a nice double determination Watcher's eye with a solid roll for the Armor (+945).

I have played with Temporal Rift a bit today and I still don't have a strong feeling one way or another.

I love having 3 damage flasks, and 2 defensive flasks (granite and Basalt) with decent up time when mapping, which TR affords me.

The rubber band effect of Temporal Rift really does take getting used to but it is kind of fun in its own way.

I have to retrain myself a bit though, because if used correctly temporal rift can act as a super fast flame dash as it has a much faster cast time.

At worst this is an easy, cheap experiment and if I don't like I will just switch back to Defiance Banner for no cost.

How is mana dealt with? I'm constantly chugging flasks while leveling, cant imagine -3 mana cost making THAT much of a difference. I do have gear waiting, namely a ring with a open prefix for - 3 mana....just not imagining it fixing mana.

Also...Im level 48 now and EO is still literally never ever up. This is feeling like Zdps and I worry it won't ever be much better.

The -4 (or -3) on the ring is very powerful.

I will show you my data:

Mana cost of incinerate with out ring: 10
Cast Speed: 8.8
Mana used per second: 8.8 X 10 = 88

Mana cost of incinerate with -4 ring: 6
Cast Speed: 8.8
Mana used per second: 8.8 X 6 = 52.8

You can see the massive difference in the two underlined numbers.

The smaller number means we have to have much less mana regen to sustain Incinerate.

We get more than enough mana regen on the tree, ascendency and arcane surge to easily sustain a 6 link Incinerate when you have the ring. These rings are very easy to buy as they are all over trade for cheap prices. You only need the mod on one ring.

Your character is private so I can't really see what you have but typically once you get Mastermind of Discord and Arcane Surge, you can drop the mana flask for good.

EO will rarely proc if you are using Controlled Destruction. It will be up near 100% of the time if you switch to Concentrated Effect.

Note that EO icon is no longer on the top of the screen like it has been previously. It is on the tool tip bar (you will see a Diamond shape on the Incinerate icon when EO procs).

As for zDPS, I am far from any where near GG end game stuff and I am topping 4m DPS Sirus AW8 damage (single target).

I'm not using controlled destruction.

It's no longer on the top of the screen...ahh well, who knows how well it stays up then.

So many questionable changes...

By Zdps I mean the tiny tiny aoe, and the stopping all the time. Any other build is on the other side of the map while you're back there stopping. The ramp up is killing me. Feels sloooooooooooow. You channel, do piddles because you havent inflicted exposure yet, finally cast when damage taken goes off and casts Wave of Conviction there's tons of your missing damage. Its pretty close to zdps without exposure up.

I'm still leveling, hopefully this " feeling" is temporary. I need a +1 intel ammy thats for sure...missing a million dps right there.

There is a clear indication of when EO is up. You don't have to guess. As I said, it is on the tool tip bar. You will see a diamond shape when it procs. It is very easy to see when EO is up once you know what to look for.

I mentioned earlier that you should not be using Incinerate alone to do your clearing. It will take you forever. You have to employ Infernal Call as much as possible to improve your clear speed. It takes a while to get used to but I am getting to Scourge of 200 in maps with Infernal Call just wiping screen after screen instantly.

In the end though, if you hate the build, you should not be wasting your time on it. Every build is not for every player. Many different styles. Find one that you like better and enjoy yourself :)
I don't have a -X channel cost enchant but I do use an enduring mana flask, no problem with mana. I also use HOA instead of discipline, helps a lot with clearing. Just more options
