[3.20] ❄️❄️ Velyna's Hollow Palm Ice Crash ❄️ ❄️ Leaguestart Section | Hidden and Feared Viable

I don't have this build far along at all, but at very initial stages I notice the bulk of the damage comes when the ice erupts from the ground, which occurs shortly after it's placed. So there is a delay before the big damage occurs. Seems like a weakness of the build. Anyone know if the Infernal Trinity Palm has something similar?

Use Increased AoE when farming maps, MS for bossing.

That starts to feel a lot better with more attack speed.

Hello there!

Just thought I'd post a little review on this build after getting my character to 97.

First, I am one of many people who rely greatly on build guides like this. I started out my fifth season playing the usual slayer/gladiator "super cheap, melting the atlas on a one ex budget, have Maven do things to you, that even your wife wont do for 1 alch" kind of builds. All the misleading titles you guys are familiar with.

I wanted to try something new.

About the details written in the pro/con section

Pros

- "Easy start, easy scaling" 100% true. By far my best leveling experience so far. And every new item, and every extra +10 dex was very noticeable.

- "Make Melee Great Again: This is among the safest melee builds I have played, even being locked in place for multistrike doesn't feel so bad here because the mobs are all frozen with you." I was very, very ( very ) sceptical about this. BUT it's true. After playing max block gladiator and some campion builds I was amazed by this builds level of survivability. Now keep in mind that getting out of degens fast was very important and dashing out of DIE for example, but my first death on this build was actually in my very first 10 boss invitation. The jewel that blinds enemies was a big leap in defense, get it fast!

-3 Button gameplay Well, with the terrible flask system (personal opinion) It was just okay, I did not feel the need of 10 other skills, because it was so active already, and FUN. And the visuals made it even better. I always wanted to try a slam skill, but the "cry rotation" and the slow 2h attack speed was a big NO for me.

Cons

"Stat budget: The build uses a lot of uniques with low/zero resist, plus we cannot equip gloves or a shield. It's not terribly hard to pack enough on belt/rings but gets expensive if you want damage mods as well". I know that rares are (or were? harvest) strong, but for me some uniques are always a good start for a build, because my knowledge of crafting is close to 0. Getting enough resist was a little bit of pain, but nothing serious.. you'll get through it :)

"Chaos/Degens: You can wear Devotos for some chaos res, but I personally just run near -60 and deal with it. Either way not a huge issue but worth mentioning." I never really died to degens or chaos damage, I had some close calls, but as I mentioned above, it was in my mind to avoid them. I feel like I got better in avoiding danger, dodging boss skills while playing this build.

So, it's time to talk about my gear. Since I don't know how to link my items, I hope you can find them in my profile. I spent around 50 ex and that includes a double Hatred bonus watcher's eye for 25 ex, but with far less (like 8-10 ex) the build was already very strong. My rings are still scuffed and my last big up was the frostbite ring, but I was already melting bosses, guardians, conquerors, shaper, elder, cortex, sirus 8, juiced t16 ultimatums and the Trialmaster.. all deathless. And don't forget my very first Maven kill, not deathless.. but still a big achievement for me. I never played a build before that can freeze/chill, it helped a lot.. expesially with ultimatums.

All in all, this is a very strong build for both bossing and mapping. My first time to get my atlas done, and actually play the endgame. A really good balance between defense and damage. I loved it so much, that I might push it to lvl 100 and get the 36/40 challenge reward.

So let me close this tedious post by this. A big TANK YOU to Velyna for the build guide. Looking forward to try some of your other builds in the next league.

My 2 cents who played this from league start and done with the league (sadly not as fun as 3.13 for me):

I pretty much agree what Kalithas said. As a League start, I have never had a better run than with this build. It took me from white maps all the way to killing every boss + A8 without any issues. I don't think I spent more than 5-10ex with everything including jewels (jewels being 1ex+ each) and did not have enchants on helmet/boots until after I cleared after A8. It's the first time I reach 95 on a character since I was simply immortal in maps and the only time I died is on bosses. I did not do Maven but I did the maven fights for breaches/elder/synthesis with a death here and there simply cause I suck.

Is it an insane boss killer? No. Fastest mapper? No, but fast enough where you oneshot all packs, just not exactly multiple screen clears. There are better builds up there who have a much higher investment ceiling, this one caps out fairly quickly after you get your uniques where rings are only the really worthwile slots to upgrade. Will it get the job done? Easily.

Overall, incase nothing changes in 3.15 for Raider/Hollow Palm, this build is a great league starter and highly recommended but does get a bit boring since you only use one button (unless that is your jam obviously).
Hey, great build I was curious if anyone knows what is the cheapest method to color the chest.
This build is awesome, I use to run Heists.
The PoB has "enemies are intimated" checked in the config section but I cannot seem to find in the build how it's being applied. Anyone has an idea?
Thank you

Color with chromatic to 3R. and then harvest.
I only used change 2 random colours to 1R/1G, but there are also change 2 random to 2R available.
If colours drop below 3R, apply chromatics for 3R again.
Takes about 25chromatics on avarage for 3R.
