I play PoE since release and i just started on PS4... and i'm just going to go back to PC...

I'm going to be really honest here and also please take this with a grain of salt. The reason i wanted to play on PS4 is because i like being on the couch, with the joystick, and overall it is more comfortable.
But after reaching level 76 in 2 days and then trying to use the market... i'm just pretty much giving up.

I'm here going to ask the community. What's wrong with you ?

First the market prices are ridiculous. People are not setting prices on their items, after you offer a reasonable price they just say ''lol''.

I'm trying to buy in this case Grand Spectrum (15% ele damage per jew) and usually this jewel costs around 3-4 chaos on PC, same league obviously (Hardcore Delirium). I would understand prices being a bit high at the beginning of the league but honestly, right now, prices should be normal and as we further move towards the end of the league, prices go down.

I offered same price and i got ridiculous answers. I can only assume this people have no idea of the price of pretty much any item they are trying to sell. I have seen other items as well with ridiculous prices, for example, leveling items that go for 5c like what ?

When i tell them that i will use this item for few hours and trash it, i think they don't understand it at all.

The market it's self is a big pile of trash where you can't really find what you are looking for, since you can't search for specific prefix or sufixes... and on top of that people are overpricing trash items for no reason, i have been trying to buy these Grand Spectrums now for few days, they are the same jewels, same people, and they will never sell, i doubt anyone uses them nor will buy them at this point, i'v stopped playing and log once a day to see, some offers are people who don't even reject me (hence, people who don't play anymore) and others don't even tell me price when they reject me and i offer again asking the price.

I have seen some rare items that are total garbage for 20c, 10c...

5link chest pieces for 10c ... when i can just grab a tabula rasa instead...

And lets just not bring up currency ratios. I have seen some things that made my eyes bleed. People selling a stack of chromatics for 3 chaos or stuff like that... unbelievable... i didn't know the situation in the console community is so bad.

Can anyone explain me what is this ? My build goes around Grand Spectrum and there is no possible way for me to make it happen. I have bough 2, for 20 fusings one and 5c the second, which i think are kinda okay considering nobody buys these anyways, considering that i really need them, but here again goes the question.

Offer and demand. Of course there are not as much on the PS4 community as on the PC version but also every single day i see them for sale. I'm pretty sure the demand is pretty low on these things, hell, otherwise people would have set price and sell them really fast. When something has big demand usually it sells fast.

I have it clear. I want to think that people who play on console have no idea that they are wrong, that what they are doing is killing the console playerbase because they have no knowledge about this game overall and marketplace. I recommend them check poe.trade and just overall see how they can price their items. I'm not saying copy prices from the PC to console, but don't try to sell me something worth 3c for... oh wait, i never got an answer of the price they want to sell, because they themselves have no idea how much it is worth, so after i ask, they reject again with no answer.

I believe and i'm pretty certain that any PC player that played for quite awhile and knows what he's doing, his duration on console will be like mine, 2 days, console playarbase and overall the community is made of people who played Path of Exile for the first time when it released on console, thus, they made their own imaginary world of prices and anyone who actually knows that leveling items are used for few hours, that white 5 links are not worth more than 3c and overall other items that are pure garbare don't sell for 20c, knows that their place is not on the console.

I really liked the cosole version, it's smooth, i really wanted to compete on the ladder, but i'm not even going to try. You guys are destroying your community by not letting PC players come to play, and by doing so, you have no attention to your bug reports, to your bluescreen reports, because once again, almost nobody plays here. when we PC players come to play, we find out that you guys have no idea of the price of any item at all and are telling us to pay for something way more that it is worth. For you it maybe seems to be normal but believe me, it is not.
I repeat, leveling items, white armour chests 5 linked, and other overall leveling gear are worth 1 to 3 chaos overall, because you use it for few hours and re-sell or vendor. That's all i can say i hope you think about it, and i will be back for PoE 2 on console hoping that they fixed the market, and the community actually learned what's worth and what not. poe.trade is yours to inform yourself and see and compare. And you will see that in any league, lvling uniques and white 5L are cheap, because people buy them for few hours. Jewels like Grand SPectrum are cheap, because it's not the meta, they were expensive one time yes, when they gave 5% ele damage per jewel, they were meta, but not anymore, so please learn that as well. Every new league there are meta builds and thus those items required for those builds are more expensive. It just saddens me to see a beatiful game with beatiful community on PC seeing it ported so very badly market wise and community wise for the console PS4 at least. Have a nice day.

2) No bots farming on console (lower supply)


While the prices are more expensive (it's true) you forget the fact that it's 100 times easier to make currency compared to PC. Seems people who complain forget this. In Metamoph I made 16ex by selling 4x 21/20 skill gems. You can't do this on PC... This is just 1 example. There are literally hundreds of ways to get rich.

So in the end it all balances out.

leveling items are still about 1c except tabula.

Sure some people think they are worth exalts and they will never sell anything, so find one that is 1c and buy it.

But a lot of the times, your offer will sit there for hours and hours and at this point in the league it's usually pretty dead and a lot less things on the market, so the price gets inflated but not for leveling items like you claim.

You can't search for anything, so you aren't going to find any good rares to buy. Every league all of my rares I had to craft myself, you'll never find a ring on the market because there are thousands of them and no filter to search for good ones. People keep every single rare ring they find think it's magic and worth something, it's ridiculous.

If they could crossplay us with xbox that would help some, many games are doing that and it would be nice if they did that with this game. But no crossplay with PC, that wouldn't be right at all.

But PC has so many more people playing it and bot farmers so there are just tons more items.

The market on console favors the price fixers too unfortunately, there are some simple solutions that could of helped with that but they are favored for some reason.

On top of that you say that on console people don't know how to price their items because they started on consoles while on pc, after 7 yrs, you guys know it better.
Of course, let console player base learn it like you did on pc 7 yrs ago. The market is self regulatory here and on pc, but of course, every market follow its own rules based on demand and supply.. and bots lol.

I wish that those were the console problems, unfortunately they are not, there are much bigger problems.

It feels more like SSF. But hey? look at my build. With all those gears? i only bought the diadem,daggers and amulet. All others are self-crafted or found. I mean,you dont even need to byu rares, when you can craft decent one with 1 ex cost of crafting.

I played on pc since closed beta myself and way back then prices were also ridiculous, 100ex for a shav / soul taker / kaoms etc. Prices on ps4 now are cheap imo considering the limited supply, especially in standard were there is either 1 or none of the top tier uniques for sale. Also when acuitys were new they were also 100ex. Given time the ps4 economy will be in a far better shape than PC.

Prices are a function of Supply and Demand.
Low supply alone does not mean prices should be higher.
Low supply and high demand, means high prices.
However, the issue is that the lower population also means lower demand across the board.

The supply is limited on PC too within a league but there is also a higher population.


PS4 gamers don't get it. They want to make up any excuse to overcharge for items and end up selling nothing.

Except there is no high demand for alot of the items. The same crappy Circle of Guilts that were going for 2ex+ 3 weeks ago haven't got sold and are still in market.

Spending exalted orbs should give u high tier items, not mediocre items
