Seem to keep losing 2-3 carrions each time.

My if anyone wants to take a look.
Running Carrions with The Primordial Chain neck is a no go. You need non-golem minions to make them effective.

Either switch to 1 chaos golem, 1 lightning golem, and the rest stone golems,

or

get a +2 gems amulet and preferably a helmet with +3 minion gems and socketed gems have minion life, then add in animated guardian, spectres, and zombies.

Stone golems are easy and cheap to set up. They will carry you through all the content and up to level 100.

Carrion golems will DOMINATE nearly everything. They have better AI, lower DPS in POB but far higher DPS in the actual game, and it costs a lot more to set up.

Feel free to message me in game if I'm on.

I'm thinking of playing a golemancer in Heist. This build looks really neat, but I'm a little concerned about the cost early on.

I'm assuming the primordial chain is pretty much essential to start using golems? How easy is it to level and gear with other skills?

I have a question for you. Im currently in the process of respeccing my necro to this build, you say that wity carrion golems you shouldnt use primordial chain neck? Im just a but confused isnt it in the gear section for carrions or am i missing something? Was planning on using carrions for mapping and swapping to stone golem for conquerors / sirus.

I swapped to stone golems and they are way better than Carrion's. They are tankier and do fantastic damage output, not to mention they have in-built taunt.

I believe that to make Carrion's better than Stone Golems, you need non-golem minions so that they benefit. This isn't to say that Carrion's were bad in the first place but now that i swapped to Stone Golems, i believe with the Primordial Chain Neck that Stone Golems are the way to go!

Whats the difference in clear like? Is it noticeable or is it a small difference?
I have not played Carrion Golems, but on paper and with a huuuuuge budget, it should definitely outclass the Stone variant. Now... That doesn't mean I endorse that build. If you throw 100+ Exalts on most builds, they will shine.

Also, some of the carrion builds claim that they are only 10-20 ex, but when you actually start looking into it, you find out they crafted their own items with harvest. Harvest is a bad league to figure out the cost of a build, as you can focus on prefix rolled items and essentially mirror it with a bunch of add/remove suffix resistances from harvest. That is why harvest is bitter sweet. IMO it was a mistake to add it for the league if they did not intend it to go core. My only issue with it was that they gave it, then took it away. I'd rather it have never entered the game if it isn't going to be an option in the future. But that is just my opinion.

Back to the main point - the reason Carrion is stronger, essentially (there it is weaker in some areas) is that you have an AG. That AG, if you pump him with 5-6ex of gear, provides some truly outstanding buffs for you and your pets. Perma fortify, frenzy charges, triple curses, enemies can't crit when near the AG, etc... Insane. But, once again, the build is expensive, and if you unlucky and your AG rips... You now have another 6Ex you gotta spend to deck him out again.

I personally prefer Carrion over Stone Golem, whilst Stone Golems are great, they suck at clearing and miss the leapslam. I don't want to start a fight about this.
There is no doubt that Carry Golems are expensive as fuck. I pumped about 40 ex into my build and it is not even close to be min maxed, but it has done all content with ease.

My used gear (and I didn't played poe in weeks)

PoB Fork: https://pastebin.com/utL0iJx8
The settings within the config tab is set to its realistic state. I don't use a AG, Profane Proxy is delivering Vulnerbility and I am in no need for Fortify. Neither my Golems nor my Spectres die. And if a Zombie dies, who cares they get resummoned.

The Helmet was Fossil crafted and costed my about 7 Ex or so to create.

The sole purpose of my build was to AFK Blighted t16 Maps, which is possible at a much lower budget.

With my setup I was able to beat Sirus (AL8) with ease and skipping most of his Attacks (Meteor Maze, what?)

Don't get fooled by the PoB Damage Numbers, they seem to be incorrect.

Anyway, have a good day. :)

Slightly faster clear somehow and they don't die. My gear in my POB below for reference (slightly above average). It's exactly the same with my Carrion setup but for now the Stone Golems are performing better.

I'll probably use carrion for clear and stone for bosses, only problem is i need to get white socket on my helm to be able to put a stone golem there when i use carrion :(
