Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, the visual feedback though makes it seem like it's not working like pyroclast, when in reality it is. I think this is the case. I tried it myself and with Pyroclast it's very easy to see due to doing it right you get nearly a whole screenfull of mess that detonates so many mines while throwing. Updated my gear under the guide. Dying sun increases. Ball lightning coverage but does not improve single target DPS.
