Picard or Kirk?

I'd have to go with Movie Kirk first (and Shatner Kirk, not Pine Kirk) followed by TV Picard.

I don't really consider Sisko a competitor in that debate simply because his overall role was so vastly different.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
Kirk. He is the 1960 Chad we all wanted to be.

Stewart practically lifted that dud of a series out of the boring morass it sat in for almost all of the first season. It would have died without his acting chops. (And TOS would have subsequently been almost entirely forgotten.) It was only in the second series and beyond that the other actors really started knowing and expressing their characters.

For fans of acting per se, he wins hands down. But those who enjoy camp and melodrama will necessarily prefer Shatner.

The proof is in the pudding. If Netflix had announced a new ST series called "Kirk" and starring Shatner, what do you suppose the reaction would be?

In any case, few can deny the brilliance of this (sorry, couldn't find the original), which would never work with Picard and Data:
