Wouldn't recommend, its pretty shit. BL is the way to go.
The new content looks too dangerous for the miner. Will our BL or GC be able to fight 10 bosses in the arena at the same time?

I think Ball Lightning will be vastly superior compared to Glacial Cascade in the boss arena, because you can run to the safe side of the arena spam BL mines and detonate them and they will continue to fly towards the bosses damaging everything nearby, with GC you need to detonate where the bosses are and almost on top of them. Ball Lightning will always be better because you detonate once and it moves on its own and damages mobs around it, GC is detonate once and thats it
Bosses get melted pretty quickly by this build, and if you are doing BL, then you have a pretty good AOE to damage multiple at once.

Not sure if survivability will be a huge issue (Depends on the size of the arena).

It will mostly depend on the size of the arena and if the bosses get buffed HP or are just normal bosses.
Do you have any videos of your ball lightning in action?
Wow.
They nerfed nearly every ascendancy from our Saboteur.
Thats harsh.

huge nerf...
If we consider that we have about 10 mines out at any given time, and with the same tree, we're losing :
* 20% aoe :Big hit, massive is using ball lightning
* 8% reduced Area Damage taken from Hits :Big hit
* 20% reduced mana cost : Not as bad as I thought. Just tried in game and I need 23 more mana than before to get 23 mines out. I'll survive
* 40% increased Damage if you Detonated Mines Recently : gonna be big early game, less notable later on
* 30% inc dmg against blinded ennemies: same as above. Both together is reaaaly bad.

We gain:
* 10% crit multi against burning ennemies : note bad not worth what we lose
* 5% mine throwing speed: pretty good early
* 5% detonation speed. will make gameplay smoother but will reduce the number of mines on the field

Now, the buff of the inc effect of aura from mine from the new demolition specialist is MASSIVE. I believe it does scale both the high impact support gem and the destructive apparatus node on the tree? meaning that with 10 mines out, we go from 40% chance to deal double dmg to 50%, which is 7% MORE dmg (1.5/1.4)

So the question becomes what would we give up for the demolition specialist? No final answer until we have the new skills update. Born in the shadows is too good of a defensive ability, pyromaniac's regen was great as well... on top of shock and ignite immune. Even without the aoe, explosive expert is a HUGE dmg boost but i guess pob will tell us how bad it the trade off.
Thx for the summary.

It was always the question between
Born in the shadows - for better defense
and
demolition specialist - for better dmg.

First got a nerf,
last got a buff.

This makes the choise easier for me.
