You've done an amazing job, spent a lot of time not only playing and testing this build, but also editing, writing about it, really. However, you havent played it this league, you dont know how difficult (or not) Delirium is, even when you try to decrease the quality of your gear and show how awesome this build still is, the rest of your gear is still almost God-tier.
I'm sorry, but as someone said before, it seems like a cheap scam. Because it is. You either state in the description that it is standard build or that you need to HEAVILY invest in it to farm red maps with no problems. It's not for newbies and new players.
It is NOT the most powerful build anymore, you CANT (anymore) put your Raised Zombies in the Tabula and go kick some ass.
Sorry, but that't the truth. I'm kind of sad seeing inexperienced PoE players getting influenced by your posts how crazy this build is and then getting destroyed in yellow maps and not understand why.
Who needs guides? Who asks questions? Who struggles? New or inexperienced players. This build is not for them. And you should state that.

Man, stop flexing. Seriously. A struggling necromancer appears, says he cant do Simulacrum and then out of nowhere you show up and demonstrate that this build is great, you've done 20th wave with no problem, here is proof, bla-bla-bla...
How many exalts you invested? 70? 80? 100? Your wands are at least 10ex each. Your chest is how much? 15-20? Two jewels 7-8ex each? Enlighten/Empower lvl4, Zombies/Spectres/AG lvl21, awakened melee physical 8ex, ect, ect, ect. Of course you can do t16 100% delirious!
ANY BUILD IN POE can do ANY CONTENT if you invest a lot of currency. In case somebody didnt know.
And dont you say to me, you dont need that kind of gear to do all the content...YES YOU DO. May be not to that extend, but you MUST invest heavily in the build to work as it supposed to. 5% dps here, 4% there, another 3% there and it all adds up to 100% more dps, 100% more zombie HP. Yes, it actually does.
I played this build from the start, invested at least 40ex for it to play more or less comfortably, so I know what I'm talking about.
3) to struggling and new necromancers
This build is not cheap at all. I would even say it is very expensive. Not mirror-tier, but still. If you think you can pick up a 5link or a Tabula, invest 1-2-3 ex (or even 5) and go farm red maps, sorry, I have bad news for you. Budget setup doesnt work anymore. Dont start with it if dont have AT LEAST 20ex.
If you're patient, ready to farm white/yellow maps to build up tens of exalts and progress it further and further after tens of hours of playing, yes, of course you can do it. But that's the only way.
Most important points about getting this build where is HAS to be:
1) Many people said it and I repeat - 1000 strength. Dont bother even mapping without them. It is very easily achieved with Efficient training jewel and gear with "to strength"
2) 22 lvl zombies (20 from gem, 2 from ascendancy) are SHITE. You need to have at least 27-28. 30 is optimal. Either through +1/+1 wands or crafted two-handed. This is when you'll feel a HUGE difference in both - suitability of your zombies and dps. Yes, I've done t16 map with lvl 25 Zombies, but I cant say I was comfortable playing like this.
3) Forget about Tabula or a 5link if you're progressing to high tier yellow or even red maps. You need something better.
4) Dressing up you Animate Guarding with appropriate chest - Nearby enemies are blinded and 10% of maximum life is added as energy shield (plus, other end-game set up of course). Together with Meat Shield (so it stays close to you) should do the trick. On Sirus you can swap for Minion Life just in case. It is not just a quality of life upgrade. This is a must-have if you're planning to farm delirious high-tier maps.
Sadly these are some true words :(
i started this league with this guide and kept following it despite those many rips i had.
I admit, it is really refreshing and fun now but the progression itself was quite... frustrating
My minions are fine now and i can farm t16 and Simulacrum 20/20.. but my char itself still feels quite squishy and i gonna test some more defense versions.
All in all i wouldnt recommed it myself either for starter or newbies.
Edit: i farmed some currency with another char which had way better survivability and same if not better farm speed

Invested 1ex and beating red map. Higher level = more damage and life to minions. Gona buy some jewels for 2ex now and gona enjoy my life.
Idk what you talking about.

Agreed.
My wife has been running this build and every bit of currency we have has been going into her character to make it feel playable. We've asked for help four times in this post and it has all fallen on deaf ears.
This build is insanely expensive and it does not feel like the currency invested is worth it at all.
Right now we are trying a variation of @Dan_Rey build to see if we can make that work.

This is the absolute truth! This is my first full league (I played for less than a week 4 years ago) so I followed this guide to build my character. Big mistake. While the guide did help give me direction in the game, it has fallen short if you're planning on playing the delirium league. The original poster is on the standard league (and should mention so). This build is a good starter but it won't take you far into the end-game at all.
As the other posters have mentioned, the build is cost prohibitive. I was lucky enough to obtain most of the "end-game" gear myself as I am just missing a 6L weapon now because the cost is out of my reach. Unfortunately, this is my first time going through the thread looking for help because I am having trouble getting through the league. My zombies and I melt at T11~. Not sure how I will be able to progress into harder maps.
This build is good for standard league, but I recommend looking at delirium focused guides if you're planning on playing there.
This build is not cheap at all. I would even say it is very expensive. Not mirror-tier, but still. As someone who has followed the guide from the beginning and not realised it won't be a sustainable build, what changes from this build would you recommend? Is there another build that actually works similar to this one?

This is so true. i wish they acknowledge that this is no longer a strong build . Minimum 20 ex is required for the build to do yellow maps and 30 for red and 50 probably to do A8 sirius deathless/simalcrum deathles.
Everyone does not know crafting. we buy slightly expensive items at the cost of spending 10 hrs learning and experimenting. Even the basic cluster jewel large with 1 socket are in the price range of 100 -150 chaos at least.
Even i have asked for help at least 4-5 times and only twice did someone get back to me with advice, if you scroll last 20 pages anyone can see the amount of questions vs amount of answers are liek 95:5
GGG has offically nerfed this build to the ground and anyone saying otherwise please prove it by defeating Uber Elder/A8 Sirius with just 5 exalts gear ( CURRENT MARKET PRICE) not what you bought at league start.
i feel guilty af for investing so much currency in this build but i'm so used to the play style since 2 leagues that after 6 months you still want to try and make it work somehow.
i hope OP and others either find solutions and stop flexing with what they built when the cost associated are 20-50 exalts..
an average POE player makes 10-20 ex's on an average per league.. i know because i'm an admin of the path of exile play pit facebook page and daily the questions /information we come across gives us a basic idea how people are performing this league.. funny part is every summoner there is confused too :D
Really hate Maven as a boss and its mechanics! pls give us something cool like Elder/Shaper
Just like almost every build in PoE, the need to craft high-end items and extremely good gear is needed for many end-game events.
What many miss when complaining about this build is it was created when Necro's were extremely OP and could do end game events with little investment. Now thigs have changed a lot.
brunowa and others have kept this thread updated as best they could, in fact, better than many build guides I have seen, Thanks to all of you !!
Yes it can now cost a lot of ex to do a great build, no surprise, this is PoE after all. I remember Demigods Purple People eater slayer I did sometime ago, I spent a ton on that one also, crap his 2-Hander is mirror quality and would prolly cost 100+ ex + a mirror.
brunowa and others and some very good items, some are next to impossible to find like the watchers eye. I love them showcasing their builds as it shows us what is possible if you really work for it.
I have been thinking of selling my 2-Hander and play around with dual wands, because thats the nature of PoE, keep changing things up, try new things and builds.
Keep complaining about not being able to do end-game with a Tabula now, fact is we could at one time, GGG fixed that, but you can still get pretty far with one. Grind grind grind for currency to be able to buy or craft BIS gear, thats what PoE is all about.
Thanks all for keeping this build updated and giving us all something fun to play and work on :)
I really like the build and guess i'm gonna play it next league too. My gear ATM:
can you tell what should I min-max next? also what do you think about bow+quiver insted of staff? Bow loses fortify but can craft "minions deal +100% damage" and quiver can give some HP too.
Wondering if any of the other advanced guys could tell me what i should upgrade next? awakener slammed my neck today, could be better could be worse.
This is my first league back making it to a point where i can kill endgame bosses (yep i'm a nub with too much irl stuff to deal with who could only play hardcore when we dealt with "is it uber atziri viable though?")
I have a few elder/shaper sets ready to go, i died on phase 3 to A4 sirus in the speed build so i don't really want to use the sets if i can upgrade something quick first. I have around 16 ex to play with. Was thinking of maybe awake slamming a belt? Rings are extremely hard to come by and i have a 320% hubris so not sure if i need them too much.
