if i can't afford a staff with minion double damage, there a downside to using a bow and quiver for more stats, or would a mace be better if the mace and bow are the same rolls,

Yes you won't be able to use Cyclone if you are using a Bow/Quiver so you'll have to self case offering/desecrate
My Zombies are lvl 24, and sometimes they still die.
But all my minions get just shredded to pieces when the map is influenced by Baran (the Red guy), what is it about him??
My zombies are dying like flies even in t11 maps. Sometimes I get one shotted by random enemies. I am nowhere near being tanky. And not much left to catch your tanky build. I don't think I will be able to do all content with this build. Any suggestions?

Drop melee splash for empower so your zombies are higher level. They will live longer that way. The general consensus is to drop Feeding Frenzy from zombies and put it on your golem. Then use Minion Speed or Power. Are your resists capped? If not then that would explain your random oneshots. Also use granite flasks for the extra armor boosts and combo it with Molten Armor. It makes your Molten Armor absorb a lot more damage that way.
Btw you are not using his 3.10 tanky skill tree set up. Look into doing that to be even more tanky? :P

Thank you for the build! Played it towards the end of last league and glad to see it survive the nerfs!
Couple of noob questions about gems - if you had a limited budget how would you structure gem progression? Also in what gems is quality integral vs just a nice to have?
Based on the thread so far (sorted by priority):
- 20/20 raise zombie
- 3 empower
- 21 spectre
- then?
I'm still running with zombies/skeletons in a 5l saints / 5l geoffri, but when I tried swapping to zombies + auras in a 4+2 geoffri ( same basic setup as the "budget" version in the sticky ) it felt like I lost all the skelly dps but didn't pick up that much resilience. I swapped in an empower3 for melee splash in the zombies and it seemed to boost dps a little but not nearly as much as I would have expected.
Are there any obvious improvements in the gem dept I can make?
try swapping minion damage to impale support
Thanks! Swapped in impale ( + war banner -> dread banner ) and feels a bit stronger / pob agrees.
I'm trying to craft a weapon but so far have only ripped a +1 gem level / +1 fort base beastcrafting without much to show for it yet ...
Suppose I now have:
if I understand it correctly, now that I have + minion damage / +1 level the next steps are:
1. put 3 crafted mods ( +2ex )
2. put +2 support gem lvl ( +1ex )
3. put +Minion attack speed ( +2alch )
4. slam?
Is there a more optimal way to craft this instead of leaving an open affix till the very end?
But it would ONLY work for maces, swords, and axes. It will NOT work for warstaffs (warstaves?), because warstaffs have extra non-attack prefixes
1. Fossil/essence craft until you hit the desired minion damage. You'd probably want T1 damage for this.
2. If there are extra prefixes that aren't "+1 to Level of Socketed Gems" try to annul the extra prefixes. If you annul minion damage, return to step 1.
3. If there are three suffixes, try to annul one of the suffixes. You need a free suffix for the crafting bench. If you annul minion damage, return to step 1.
4. If you already have the mod "+1 to Level of Socketed Gems," go to step 7.
5. Craft "Cannot Roll Attack Modifiers" on an open suffix.
6. Use the beastcrafting recipe "Add a Prefix, Remove a Random Suffix," to add the prefix "+1 to Level of Socketed Gems." The beast you need is a Farric Wolf Alpha. Currently, they are going for 33c in Metamorph League, so it is much cheaper than slamming this prefix with an Exalted Orb. This cost-saving measure was suggested by floodo1.
(See Spoiler for an alternative to step 6.)
Spoiler
7. Right now you should have a weapon with 1-3 suffixes and only 2 prefixes: minion damage and "+1 to Level of Socketed Gems." If your weapon has any suffixes other than "Cannot roll Attack Modifiers," then go to step 8. If your weapon has no other suffixes, remove the crafted mod by using the crafting bench, and go to step 10.
8. Replace the crafted mod "Cannot roll Attack Modifiers," with "Prefixes Cannot Change."
9. Use a scouring orb on the weapon. This will remove all of the remaining suffixes. Note: Only do this after you have crafted "Prefixes Cannot Change"! Otherwise you will wipe every mod from your item and be back at step 1!
10. You should now have a weapon that has no suffixes and two prefixes (minion damage and +1 socketed gems). Time to multi-craft. Craft "Can have up to 3 Crafted Modifiers" onto the weapon.
12. Craft "+2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems" onto the weapon.
13. Craft "Minions have % increased Attack Speed / Minions have % increased Cast Speed " onto the weapon.
FIRST SIRUS DOWN EVER!!!!!!! This build is awesome!
I still got some damage to work out I think, but I'm really liking the dual wand build.
I'm running this cluster jewel, and minions feel much better with it.
Adds 12 Passive Skills (enchant)
Added Small Passive Skills grant: Minions deal 10% increased Damage (enchant)
1 Added Passive Skill is Renewal
1 Added Passive Skill is Rotten Claws
1 Added Passive Skill is a Jewel Socket\
Here's the rest of my gear:
I just swapped out FF on my zombies for minion speed so we'll see how that plays. I've spent like 1.5-2ex trying to craft another +2 wand, but have had no luck. Gotta get Enlighten/Empower leveled up, rest of my gems 20% quality, but things are looking up.
Next debate I have is if to use a timeless jewel or not. Not sure how worth it'd be. Also wanting to experiment with getting Hands of the High Templar with +1 gems, +2 AOE, and +2 Aura, though I'm not sure how worth it'd be. Love the build!
EDIT: Also still not running with a helm for Animate Guardian. How good is Mask of the Stitched Demon? Seems expensive and I'm not seeing the reason to really run with it.
