In your PoB, you have Wither, spell totem, and multiple totems all at lvl 1. Is that correct? And, if you don't mind, why is that? I'm still pretty new, but I don't see the point of leaving them that low?
Thanks

Because levels on those gems are not really doing anything and in case of Wither it has pretty high int requirement at higher levels. You can level them if you want to (and initially you shoukd so you can flip them to 20 qual ones).

Hey all,
PoB LocalIdentity Fork just received a massive update with one of the significant things of note for this build being thread of hope support. Tested it on my own character and works beautifully.
Bunch of other improvements such as Pathenon support, partial timeless jewel support and a bunch of other things that can be seen in the changes log https://github.com/LocalIdentity/PathOfBuilding/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md

Yeah I really liked this one as well. I was thinking to migrate the guide PoB to LocalIdentity fork and add link to installation guide for it at the top near pastebin. That would reduce amount of workarounds we need to do before seeing the real DPS + easier use of stuff like thread of hope etc.

Hi All! Have been following this guide lately and I'm really having lot of fun! I've seen you guys discuss on several more "advanced" (for me) topics and optimizations. Thus, I'm asking what I should do next with my char. I can clear everything with relative ease as long as I don't die: 5.4k hp seem kinda low.
I recently bought some awakened gems and they were a real bump in damage output (and removed Mirage Archer). Next 2 skill levels are gonna be on Poison Duration in the skill tree, they should add a little less than 1mln DPS. Do you agree?
I'm currenly at 8.03mln DPS from Thorn Arrows + 3.21mln DPS from Release at 5 Stages = 11.24mln Shaper DPS

Thanks for all the help!

I personally wouldnt go for poison duration node on the way to Adder's Touch because even though that single node is strong, it costs 2 nodes as first node is not doing anything, so its only 1.5% per point. But the one under Swift Venom is def worth it with thread of hope. But I would actually rather grab that 2 point jewel socket next to method with your next 2 points.
For upgrades I would definitely try to invest into gear with life as some of your gear pieces do not have any, that should fix your low life issue.
Also, big build update!:
- Replaced Stone Golem with Vaal Grace in regular setup
- Switched to LocalIdentity's fork for pastebin and added section about how to install it instead of regular PoB
- Updated configuring PoB section
- Removed workarounds in PoB that are not necessary anymore to calculate real DPS
- Added Pantheon to PoB
I was trying to avoid migrating to PoB fork for quite a while now because regular PoB is still more widely used, but I think just adding info about it to main post is enough and it provides too many benefits for the build (main pro is getting rid of all those ugly workarounds :d).

The poison duration node on the way to Adder's Touch can be allocated with 1 point, as can the Attack Speed and Poison Duration near Swift Venoms.
These 2 points will give me .7-.8 mln Shaper DPS total.
The alternative would be, as you said, to unlock a jewel spot and put something with %life, %poison damage and +#int, so that i can look at a less restrictive amulet maybe? But I don't know if there are any rare amulets worth it tbh. Any inputs on this?
Thanks so much!

Would anyone mind checking my gear? I'm following this tree and build. I feel like I have better than average gear for level 79. I'm getting my ass kicked at level 11-13 tier maps. I'm at max resistance, but just getting hit a lot and getting killed faster than I can hit a potion.
Things get up on me before I can charge the shot all the way and when I do charge the shot, it's not taking them down quickly.
Around this level is when I converted to using a darkscorn and I haven't looked back. The chaos resist helps a lot in general, but having darkscorn makes you super tanky and you still do a lot of damage.
Biggest DPS upgrade for you would probably be a new quiver - even a basic drillneck would help a lot with your dps since your current quiver isn't adding much dps.
Another QoL upgrade would be moving to vaal grace to help with surviving or move to a vaal haste for increased dps.
Really appreciate the response, buddy. I will definitely make the changes you suggested. You by chance have any stream uploads where you're using this build for harder maps? People like to showcase their builds for easier content, but I'm always interested in seeing how people do for harder-rolled maps.
Had a couple follow up questions regarding gems too:
1) Is Blink Arrow in the build for any reason other than mobility? So shouldn't be an issue to use smoke mine instead, if I'm comfortable with it?
2) Is there much utility in using despair gem AND wither totems? Is that mostly a bossing strategy?
3) Is Blood Rage really doing all that much work in this build? We don't do that much physical so I noticed it wasn't amazing leech. Is it to hasten the 5-stage channeling of Scourge Arrow?
4) Am I shooting myself in the foot by not having faster casting on wither totems so that I can use Decoy Totem?

1. Its mostly to close gaps, but if you are comfortable with smoke mine its ultimately just better
2. Yeah its majority of your single target damage, wither is 90% inc damage taken to enemies and despair is huge as well, they are not optional
3. Yeah, the attack speed is a lot of damage and frenzy generation for mapping is amazing, the leech isnt really doing anything
4. Yeah, you need full 4 link for reliable 15 stacks, and with decoy totem you are cutting your wither totem count to 2 (assuming you are placing both decoy and wither totems) losing even more stacks
