Been playing around with the tree a little bit, and it seems that we get more Energy Shield if we spec into "Utmost Intellect" instead of 3 point in energy shield. (at least it works that way in the build I'm using)

Good catch, yeah, I noticed it as well earlier and I also already updated PoB link in main post with it.

With warlord's mark not applying to spells anymore, i'm wondering what are other ways of getting reliable life and mana leech before transitioning to CI. Any ideas?

Probably just life flask and assasin's mark should be enough before that (also you will be leeching ES pretty soon thanks to Soul Thief, so as hybrid, it will be fine)

So, I decided to also take Insightfulness cluster for some extra mana sustain and more energy shield. I had to drop Throatseeker for it, but, it is not that big of an issue. Energy shield is now at 10K (slightly below 9K on budget version with Carcass) and DPS at 8M (around 2M on budget version with 5 link, close to 3M with 6 link). I also slightly changed the links for starter, replaced controlled destruction with Cold to Fire.

Updated PoB pastebin is in main post, along with adjusted damage and ES values.

Still trying to decide if this lightning one or Chieftan fire variation.

Very interesting, thanks for posting. I've been following the thread for a few days aswell, but i'm planning on playing this on HC. Do you have any tips for what you personally would change?

Would a shield/scepter be viable?

Would you use Vaal RF on HC?

For HC? I would probably switch to sceptre/shield yeah, classic Cerberus Limb + Aegis Aurora will work really really well. The DPS will be lower of course (around 3.6M), but you go to 80% max cold res, 12.3K ES, 37% block chance (instead of staff nodes best would be to switch to 4 point Arcane Guarding). Possibly also lvl 20 self cast IC, Shield Charge instead of leap slam and adding new Dash somewhere.

And yeah, I would still run Vaal RF, it is not really dangerous to pop it before fight and leech/regen everything back in less than 2 secs

Abyss jewel. Not important on bosses as it is not giving me any damage bonus, but for mapping abyss jewel with Onslaught on kill is godsend.
