I haven't seen the game of thrones yet, as I'm waiting for the whole season to come out and then the discs on BR. But most of the reviews I've heard and people I've talked to said the episode was great(except for the darkness). I think the people that will be disappointed is those whom have knowledge about tactical warfare(such as yourself), which is probably only like 5% of the viewers. Most people just want to be entertained. I'm not saying you are wrong, just saying that very viewers care about the things you mentioned.....

Thank about how many times you watch an action drama, where the guns never run out of bullets? Or how the good guys in gun battles almost ALWAYS seem to escape death. Many unrealistic situations and stupid decision making, but it never diminishes the ratings at all, as people just want to be entertained.

I think the episode was great. Just had an anti-climatic ending. Which, sorta soured it a bit. And this also was an anti-climatic ending to a series' long storyline; the white walkers.

The entire episode, up until the last few minutes, was awesome to me. Edge of my seat tension. It was pretty stressful watching the episode, I can say that much. The darkness didn't bother me much, I guess I'm lucky my PC monitor I watched it on is pretty bright on blacks.

My main point and reason for listing up only some of the problems is:
If drama ensues due to absolutely stupid stuff happening and characters doing stuff that they would never actually do (Just one example: Tyrion - the "smartest guy in Westeros" - hiding in a crypt, full well knowing that the Night King can resurrect the dead) then it is not drama, it's just stupid and not exciting at all.

I just listed some of the warfare stuff but there is a lot of other moronic nonsense happening as well.

But you are absolutely right. Most people loved it. The less you know the more you can probably enjoy life in general :-)

I once heard a German comedian say: Happiness is just lack of knowledge ;-)

What tension? The plot armor of named characters was 3 inch thick indestructable adamantium.

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them

You didnt really know that at the time, though. In hindsight, yes it was plot armor. But watching it, you fully expected multiple people to die. GoT has given you enough room for pause to at least think people were gonna die.

But again, I dont care that much that they lived. People were going to start surviving as the series winded down. They had to for there to be a story at all. I really wonder what people would think if it was literally just Jon/Dany/Cersei at this point, with 3 episodes to go. Its easy to kill characters off in earlier seasons when we know they have time to make more we can get interested in. This is the end; there is no more time for that. If this wasnt the last season, I would understand this knock. This isn't s1. They dont have another 8 years to create more people.

I've seen all of the leaks and they were all 100% accurate the amount of writing is just beyond atrocious my god they should of just let the author direct it.

Fucking abomination.

I havent looked at any leaks, but I can already imagine its more female power, hear me roar Mary Sue action?

Jon gonna be reduced to NK plot levels where hes just there to create conflict for the women. His story is over and he didn't even get to finish it. Him learning of his past is probably just get Dany going.

I mean, they basically trashed his entire storyline to throw a random twist in there with Arya not only killing NK, but Naruto Ninja running so silently and fast hair is flying, and then going Air Jordan on the NK.

I can only imagine what Jon is gonna be reduced to for the rest of the season. Watching him yell at that dragon, being useless, literally reminded me of every sitcom husband. I dunno why, but Everybody Loves Raymond just popped into my head while hes standing there yelling at that dragon. Like really? Tim the fkin tool man Taylor baby.

Here's probably whats gonna happen. Jon gonna get killed by Dany, cause she wants to be queen. Cersei probably kills one of her 2 stupid brothers, and then the other kills her. Probably stabs her through the stomach to get the kid and her both for the shock value. Sansa/Arya get mad at Dany cause she killed their brother for power. They kill her. One of those ends up on the throne. Game over.

If we were really lucky, Cersei wins.

Cersei winning would be the best, yes.
Lets just say it's possibly one of the worse writings I've ever witnessed and these leaks are true it's all been true in terms of each leak like the amount of stupid in the script is beyond ridiculous.
