(3.14) Toxic Rain + Caustic Arrow | 5-10m Sirus DPS | Fast + Durable | 50c Budget/SSF Uber Elder
Ok im gonna hijack the bow idea, made a new one for myself;
Ill just wait and enchant it myself with increased AoE or attack speed when I come across one, not gonna risk this in a personal trade since I already sold my other bow. Last edited by JCOH35#4078 on Feb 15, 2021, 2:58:21 PM

@Slizer36
I didnt look at your gear the other day when you 1st asked, tbh I just assume people are following the basic guide and have the bare essentials. Theres no reason to not have t1 life rolls on the majority of your gear, that costs peanuts. You can just buy rings for example with t1 life, t1 energy shield and then removable stats for 40-60c, by removable I mean any thing with an cold, fire, attack, caster, physical, defense etc tag, you can safely remove those with harvest crafts. You do the same thing for a curse ring, just find a ring with despair on hit and t1 life, then remove the rest and add to it what you need overtime with harvest crafts. I bought both my rings for under 1ex, removed the excess junk lines, and then just harvest crafted the resists on over time, removing and adding several times to get good tiers, and augmented defence to get the ES on my curse ring. Find a nice stygian vise with t1 life and t1 strength, also cheap, then remove the junk lines, hit it with a Hunter's Exalted Orb to influence it, and over time you can harvest craft on +% max life and/or increased chaos damage. Its all basically the same, it may look like a flex but literally anyone can craft this stuff right now, its just a matter of finding the base item you want with 1 or 2 good rolls you can use, and then other crap ones that are removable, and then chipping away at them over time. Just be careful in the discord channel, take the time to ?vouch @playername and dont bother with anyone under 20-30 vouches, or more depending on what stage your item is at. " Is the bow worth it? Doesn't it feel too slow with no attack speed on it and is it actually big damage improvement over increased chaos damage implicit one? |
|
Ive been over 3 and a half attacks per second without any attack speed on any of my bows all league b/c literally every single augment, or remove/add speed ive bought has resulted in projectile speed.
18% or so attack speed would be fine, I cant answer which would be more dps, but im done wasting 5ex every attempt for new tiers of projectile speed, I have attack speed all over the place atm. Toxic Rain firing 8 arrows seems cool, +1 on helm, +2 on bow. |

" No its not. We already struggle enough to reach AoE thresholds to overlap our initial pods. So our single target DPS doesn't change and I'm not sure how much it would improve your clear speed. You have ~5 tiers of bows for this build. 1. Quill Rain with 6L corrupted chest. 2. Cheap 6L bow craft. Any 1.45+ APS bow, fossil craft for +1 socketed gems +2 socketed bow gems and bench craft chaos dot multi. 3. Higher end craft. Deterministically craft +1 socketed gems, T1 DoT Multi and multi mod +2 socketed support gems and chaos dot multi. Total cost is approx 7-8ex. 4. Similar to (3) above, but fracture 18% attack speed at the start. 5. +1 socketed support gem synth base. Either use the same method under (3) and use r/a speed for nice AS roll as the last step. Or use faceted fossils and get some extra +lvel of strength/dex gem rolls. I haven't run the numbers to see what is better. " I'm saying that you have no idea what you are doing. Don't worry about getting chaos multi rolls or whatever, that can come later. Your priority is getting items with good life rolls and resistances. When you can afford to slot in offensive mods like chaos dot multi as well, you can do that. When you can afford entry level cluster jewels, you do that. You are skipping really simple steps, and what you end up with is a build with pathetic damage and defences. Most of my items are still pretty average and I have hit level 97 and defeated all content. My gloves are just life and resistance..no attack speed, no chaos dot multi. My quiver is now t1 life, t2 dot multi and crafted attack speed, but was just t3 life and crafted attack speed until recently. My rings are just life and resistance. My amulet is +1 chaos skill gems and t1 life, you can find broadly similar amulets for 1ex, or a lower life roll for like 50c. As for crazy rolled maps..curses shouldn't matter because you should be using a curse immune flask rolled with +duration. Last edited by BrettLee#6388 on Feb 15, 2021, 7:13:21 PM

Im not one to just pronounce everyone else wrong, ive tried all the bows so when I saw several +2 projectiles popping up I wanted to make one.
The only thing I could upgrade was a slightly higher attack speed roll on my gloves outside trying a different bow so idm crafting a new one but I certainly wouldnt recommend it if you have alot of other purchases still. My main project atm is just finishing my watchstones, I basically setup my whole atlas to have 100% increased zana chance and +2 zana map options. Im just looking to maximize harvests and make extra $, in another week or so ill either try the build as deadeye or occultist or try something else. Harvest crafting really let me min/max much sooner then previous leagues. |

@brettlee
I know, its why I'm asking questions. I had t4 to t3 hp mods on my rares before I started trying to upgrade. Looking at the forums, most were saying get extra chaos mods to people who were asking and I was running with that. When I got the chaos stuff, it messed with my resistance and so I focused on trying to fix that while keeping the chaos stuff. The damage is great enough that on the high maps I could kill without issue if I didn't get killed by one-shot of chaos or crazy mods @jcoh35 I heard of the horticulture crafting, but wasn't sure if it was cheaper to buy the items strait up or get high base types and craft. |

Cheaper to make them, its just a matter of learning what rolls you can remove and manipulate.
I skipped Harvest League so this mechanic was 100% new to me, it took me a few days to get used to it but just refer to POEDB, specifically the mods section to help learn what modifiers you can get. Ill post this, this is a nice summary of TR mechanics and is relevant to the bow discussed earlier, this is an older reddit post; "I have seen some comments being upvoted with misinformation regarding toxic rain, so I thought it would be nice to share these points. I am on mobile so sorry about formatting. Each pod applies an stackable DoT instance. It's safe to assume there is no limit in the number of pods damaging an enemy. I have tested this with around 0.12s attack time and more than 150% increased skill effect duration. Since the DoT stacks and it has a 1 second base duration, investing into skill duration greatly scales your damage without introducing too crazy build up times. Modifiers to area of effect don't affect the area in which the pods land, only the pods own aoe. Unlike similar skills, increasing your aoe will actually increase your shotgunning against single target. Conc effect is a no-no because of its less area modifier, unless you have some very high aoe increases. Additional projectiles will increase the area in which the pods land. The pod distribution works similarly to that of the reworked rain of arrows. This makes gmp a great link to boost your clearing, not so much to increase your single target damage. Each pod can technically hit twice, on landing and on explosion. However the landing hit has an absolutely tiny hitbox (I am pretty sure it's not even an actual aoe, just a simple point). If you target an attack on a regular pack the chance to not hit any mob with the landing is pretty high. You can easily test this with mirage archer, since it only procs on hit. That's it pretty much. Some of these make it difficult to choose supports for the skill. In case anyone is interested, my current links are: toxic rain - mirage archer - swift affliction - vicious projectiles - empower - gmp/void manipulation." So for me I like the idea of improved clear speed, currently with an atlas at awakening level 9 I kill Baron before he can summon his 1st set of tiles and decimate every non phase boss so im not concerned with my single target damage. Ive never used Carcass Jack, or focused much on increased AoE, ive gone after maximizing all my DoT multipliers and ive had no issues whatsoever killing anything. First of all thanks for the nice build!
Secondly. The build recommends going 100% ailment immunity. I'm running at 90% now but that's with 2 elegant form jewels. The guide only shows 1 of those to be used. So what am I missing. How do you get 100% without the second jewel? Also could someone take a look at my skill tree if there's anything to improve or fix. I feel like I'm missing something there but don't know what. Gearwise I still have some things to improve but I can already do pretty much everything I want to. But any suggestions are ofc wellcomed. |

How do I go about crafting this? Just use augs and regals until I hit t1 damage over time? |
