Balance in Path of Exile: Synthesis

As someone who thinks that Scion is best girl I can't necessarely say that I fully appreciate the changes to leech, but at the same time I have to say, it was about time. Overleech was wayyy too overpowered

Other than that, nerfing the hyper-crap meta skills like BV, brands, etc. is music to my ears. Hoping this will cause some greater diversity in the communities' builds almost got sick of seeing everyone play the same skills...

Now here's to hoping that HH will receive a nerf to either buff duration or maybe even reducing the chance of gaining buffs when killing rares, like 20% should be fine

Curses
Powerful bosses, especially the Elder and Shaper, previously had significantly less effect of curses on them, to stop Temporal Chains and Enfeeble trivialising their encounters. We've now lowered this curse effect reduction to let damage curses provide more worthwhile bonuses against bosses. Temporal Chains and Enfeeble now have a separate value of damage reduction and slow for Normal and Magic enemies compared to Rare and Unique enemies, with Rare and Unique enemies having about half as much effect. The accuracy reduction on Enfeeble has also been reduced.
Before 3.6 map bosses had 60% less effect of curses on them, and guardians+ bosses had 80% less effect. In 3.6 this values will be lowered, but rare and unique monsters will receive additional ~50% less effect of curses on them(?) which also will be applied to map bosses and guardians+(?) [because they are unique monsters]. So, all curses [except Temp Chains and Enfeeble] buffed vs bosses, while Temp Chains and Enfeeble nerfed not only vs bosses(?) but also vs everything (there are lot of rares and non-boss uniques).

Energy Shield Leech

Energy Shield has a lower cap on maximum restored per second than Life Leech (10% of maximum energy shield per second), but the dedicated Energy Shield Leech passives will let you increase this number. Ghost Reaver now doubles your maximum energy shield per second in addition to turning all Life Leech into Energy Shield Leech and lowering your shield recharge rate.
So, new GR is new VP for ES but without downside of VP - disabling regeneration. I already can say 3.6 is league of ES spellcasters.

Leech Length Nerf
Previously, there was no upper limit on how much an individual leech effect could restore. This meant that a very high damage hit with enough leech could last minutes, if not longer, if you had an effect letting your leech remain on full life. Now, there is a limit of 10% restored per leech effect, so each individual leech effect can't last more than 5 seconds. For the Ascendant's Slayer Passive Skill, this is 5% lower.
Slayer will be less popular than Berserker.

So consecrated ground is buffing damage of crit builds. Do crit builds really need more damage? Why not to buff non-crit hits on consecrated ground instead.

The Gluttony of Elements skill now also provides Curse Immunity, to prevent interactions with Temporal Chains letting it last far too long. Technically, this is a buff.
Please, nerf directly effect of Gluttony, not its utility! You already had epic fails with delve in 2 leagues caused exclusively by this item! Don't turn it into epic fails with delve in 3 leagues when players will discover another abuse of this idiotic item.

Do I hear a buff to Arctic Breath coming???? Would love to see more +% cold damage over time items.
I really hope they aren't double nerfing Blade Vortex... and by that I mean nerfing Blade Vortex and then Inpulsas. Another double nerf will kill the skill as it's always linked with that item.

My understanding is you can leech 20% life and 10% ES simultaneously. Ghost Reaver will increase ES to 20%, but I’m guessing it will negate life leech and probably continue to reduce ES recharge. I doubt Vaal Pact will be changed to allow for ES leech increase, since it sounds as if they’re trying to make a Ghost Reaver the ES version of Vaal Pact.

Trickster
The Trickster's Ghost Dance and Escape Artist notables have been reworked significantly, with the goal of providing a unique and very powerful reward for specialising in Evasion and Energy Shield. Ghost Dance now creates a Ghost Shroud every second, up to a maximum of 3. After you're hit, a Ghost Shroud is consumed, restoring Energy Shield based on your Evasion Rating.

Instead of talking about nerfs, look at what could probably be one of the hugest major buff for an ascendancy...
I think (I hope) ES restored will be based on a PORTION (10% or something ?) of evasion rating. If not it would be absurdingly overpowered.
Because I just tried a PoB simulation and it's really easy to get an hybrid thing with 8k+ ev, a decent life pool and 3k+es (even with Acrobatics, Phase Accrobatics). I'm hurry to read detailed numbers in incoming patch notes about that !

Anyway this will tells me what should I pick up as ascednacy between Occultist and Trickster for a Bane build...

It still turns life leech into ES Leech, but maximum life leech rate and maximum ES leech rate are going to be seperate stats.
