Around how much is the minimum ES that a body armor needs to beat Skin of the Loyal? Right now the prices of most tops are just crazy for me and a Skin only cost like 15~20 chaos.

That depends on what base es you have on the rest of your gear. If you reach out for some more jewels and get sin trek, 200es+ helmet and 150es+ gloves, then Skin of the Loyal can give as much es as about 400-450es armor. I'd suggest skin of the loyal as the first armor to buy. And then i'd suggest to keep it until you get lvl21 herald or a +gems bow.

You just walk it off. One flame dash/blink arrow or phase run or movespeed flask is enough. With a decent ES pool you can even tank a ball or two from shaper and the slam as well if you get that unlucky. I have never died during the slow. We dont need cheese boots because the build itself is tanky and can forgive even major mistakes.

What would be the best gem on the HoA setup to drop on a 5-link? I have a Skin of the Loyal for the time being for Rain of Arrows, but can't yet afford a 6L Quill Rain.

You want your agony setup in the skin of the loyal. +1 to the rain if arrows setup doesn’t do much. That isn’t where our damage is coming from. A level 20 agony gets a huge buff from the +1.


I would swap your skin to be colored for herald setup. Also a 6l quill rain is pretty easy to come by. But a set of porcupine doc cards and chance scour it until you get a quill rain. Quill is the only unique in the pool for that base so after 100 or so chances you’ll probably hit it. I hit mine today in 40 chances and the set of cards cost me 14c. Can’t beat the price for a 6l.

What do you guys think of using the coming calamity as chest? +2 herald lvl and reserve is capped at 45%, allowing for discipline and spider aura (if needed).

It its bad because
1) very low es. you are throwing out 1/3 of yourself. what for?
2) both 6l +gems shortbow and Skin of the Loyal are much cheaper lvl21+ 6l herald
3) 45% reservation is a useless middle ground. you need less to fit hatred. you can have more and still fit discipline.

Is it worth spending 30 chaos for 5 link Quill Rain? 6L is 2ex and I'm nowhere near that! I just started doing maps t4-5.

I was gonna do that but in the end I decided to buy a set of The Porcupine cards (12c~18c) for the 6 linked bow and used alterations to add attack speed then I regal it and crafted the new minion speed mod. so far that has worked ok for me at least until I get a ton of currency for an upgrade or to chance/scour the bow until I get Quill Rain.

@Vatinas: Why do you have Reduced Mana Support connected to your Discipline?

It doesn't affect the aura, so is there a reason for it that I'm not figuring out, or it's accidental? :)
