Hey kayella !

First off, VERY nice guide ! I tried it a bit the last few days as second char (currently in Act6) and it seems quite nice so far. It's my very first Necro in PoE (started @Betrayal), but i absolutely love Necro/Undead in basically every game i've played.

A few questions:

- You mentioned updating the levelling guide.

How is it going? It's not critical in any way for me, as i'm definitely starting out next league with your guide (I usually only have 1 main char due to reduced play time), but just wanted to ask, to get an idea of how to get it through the story. Like the Flammability/StormBrand/etc stuff and maybe some other things (also the passive tree pics maybe)?
But if you don't have time to finish it, I would totally be fine for me if it's "just follow the PoB + Gem/Item setups during levelling".

- Gem levels:

As far as i understood, there's 4 Gems we want to keep on lvl1, right?
--> ArmageddonBrand, FlameDash, Convocation and Desecrate.
I understand the first 3 are because of mana issues, but Desecrate as well? I thought it has to be the highest lvl possible?
Or is it because of the Spectre-summon-trick you mention? Does re-equipping RaiseSpectre gem in your current highest zone make Desecrate spawn corpses from lvls 20 --> 100 ?

- Spell Echo:

It's said somewhere to unequip it during the Spectre summon process (i understand it raises 2 spectres otherwise), but afterwards? Does Spell Echo apply to the Spectres' attacks later when they're summoned?

SG+Skele is certainly a good build, I agree with you there. However, the point of this build was to see if FEs could replace TVs without needing FGs or some other minion as clear speed helpers. I think it succeeds; it certainly feels a lot better than TVs without Dyadus.

1.4k HP without shav's is asking to die in any league. It's managable though - I've done a full deathless chayula, for example. Also, the build is really meant for T16+Shaper+Uber Elder, so I never really considered getting a shav's. But, I'll see if I can borrow a 6L shav's to link to the build, when I can. Thanks for the suggestion.

Cannibals are only found in maps I think, they've been removed from the Coast a while ago, Beach is one of the maps where you find them most reliably.

Cool stuff! I actually like my version, but if we can get max block without the Timeless jewel (which its easy to cap block, but still get 50% of the dmg blocked) and Pledge of Hand, it would be awesome. Thanks!
Does anyone know why we run spell echo with the raise spectre? Everytime I use it, it just raises a random corpse.

Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention that you must take the spell echo out when raising spectres. Put it back in when you are done.

I'm actually working without timeless jewels because when/if legion is added to the game, the jewels could become too expensive to rely on.

I'm trying to build more defensively, so I've got MoM + EB (from Diadem) + Wicked Ward. I've also gone into Mistress and put Bone Offering in with CWDT. Lastly, I've swapped the Stone Golem for a Chaos Golem (4% phys reduction). I think I'll craft +1 endurance on my jewellery for extra tankiness. An improvement would be to get a Haste Aul's and add Discipline for more ES.

I figure that if one spectre is enough to finish Uber Elder, then I can afford to lose a bit of dps.

The walkthrough is unchanged, but the levelling passive trees have some major changes. It's quite a long process to re-do them because of the numbering, and I was busy this weekend. I hope to finish it soon.

I think the advice about desecrate is confusing. I actually have two of them, one at 20 for summoning and and one at 1 for normal mapping. I think I'll put the 20 as a default option though.

Spell Echo definitely works; the spectres will shoot twice. You will definitely feel it if you forget to put it back in.

I added 2 jewel with 1% (or can use 5% crafted helm) and changed my tree (left side only). With those tweaks i can run Aspect of Spider + 2 auras + Banner. I have 7.2k life and 1.1k ES, + 2 perma endurance charges.

My gear is not really all optimised. Did all content deathless (exept delves boss didnt try). My AG and spectres never died during U-Elder fight. Clearing still good without Charity, but definetly slower. Ill continue this way and get better gear (+3 helm with -9% res, enchant, better jewels, more ES on gear, better shield, etc.)

I tried Arakali's Fang, but found summoning the spiders kinda awkward.



Yes, SDs are definitely not the best at map clearing, especially if you're pushing towards 200%ms. But, I have noticed they clear better if used in Pledge of Hands because of the in-build inc aoe which stacks with inc aoe support!

I'm working on a quasi-hybrid variant with Pledge that focuses on block instead of acrobatics, as well as Diadem + Wicked Ward for ES. I'm building it differently to Uberelite, as I'm avoiding the use of any Legion league jewels for futureproofing. It's very much a theorycraft and may ultimately fail.


I would be very interested in your results.
