Freeze/Shatter is an amazing mechanic and I absolutely love it. I don't notice porcupines because they all get shattered!
However, frost sentinel shoot an extreme obnoxious ice spear that covers your screen in bright white spam, making it hard to see anything. It can also cause FPS drop, and if you freeze/shatter large numbers of monsters at the same time, it can cause game freezes/stutter.
SGs have much higher damage and don't cover the screen in fireball spam.

a legion monster was nice enough to drop a citaqualotl's wand in act 7 and my army is feeling a lot more formidable. sadly, i still need to unlock the trigger craft
i tried using zealotry and haste after picking up the reduced mana reserved passive and i only have 33 mana to use, which doesn't seem like enough. is there something i'm missing? am i spamming my spells too much or do i need more mana?
I keep the active spells at level 1, ie. flame dash, convocation, storm brand.

@Ashanae why you use dread banner with SG? Only for debuff "Nearby Enemies have (15-21)% less Accuracy Rating"?
Its give me Commander of Darkness buff + more dodge and lower nearby enemies accuracy rating.
Tho i use Dread banner now only when MFing, for normal mapping i swap it with Aspect of the Spider
I especially value AotS in Delve, atm around depth 420, but i hear they move upper difficulty so delve is more deadly a lot faster now ( At least is what Octavian0 is sayng )
Next question, how you generate endurance charges?

flesh offering too? even with all active skills at level 1 i think i'll still run out of mana a lot, but i probably need to adjust my play style. i feel strong enough without the haste aura right now and i'll try using it again once i pick up the tireless node.

Well, you only really need to spam convocation. Flame Dash is situational and Storm Brand & Offering are only necessary for bosses and magic/rare monsters.
Actually, if you take tireless and get -7 mana cost, flame dash, convocation, phase run & storm brand are all free at level 1. This will allow you to do non-regen maps!

i'm having a lot of fun with this build. i keep catching my self full clearing story maps cos it's so enjoyable. being able to summon different spectres is very cool. thanks again for the guide!

I'm currently running 3 Solar Guards and one Frost Sentinel, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it that way indefinitely. Solar Guard dps is high enough that mobs including porcupines often get killed before the Ice Spear hits them, which defeats the purpose of having a lower dps spectre around. The freeze mechanic is the only reason to keep the sentinels around - the dps is much much higher with solar guards.
