" Here is my version of an Occy Summoner. I just took my hybrid summoner (from Incursion league) and put the gem links from the current guide. And ported my wand in, as well. The gear isn't correct (no unset rings and still using Bones of Ullr) and the resistances are uncapped, so there's still a lot to fix up. But from this quick hackjob, it's definitely feasible! 5.2mil shaper dps, total. 1.9k life 10k ES https://pastebin.com/daKKkdqv 🔰🌀✨ Video guides on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/KayGaming ✨🌀🔰 🔶🔷🔶 Kay's Summoner build guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3179145 🔶🔷🔶 Last edited by kayella#0845 on May 29, 2019, 10:03:27 AM

" Finishing 40 challenges is my main reason for playing. So here are some general suggestions: 1. Use an off-meta meta build. The build needs to be fast, survivable, have big dps and cheap to gear in week 1. Being off-meta means the gear can be cheaper. A lot of challenges require you to kill big bosses, so you'll need a good build. 2. Play only one build. Unless you have too much free time, levelling and gearing multiple characters takes time away from completing challenges. Plus you need to learn how play each build at 100% effectiveness. Also, with only one build, you can pump all your currency into it to make it an 'endgame farmer'. 3. Rush to maps on day 1. I start playing from 0-hour and push to maps before the end of the day. Day 1 economy is its own special beast. For example, you can sell mediocre items for decent prices and buy good items for cheap. 4. Gear your character well and for cheap. It's possible to get an Uber Elder capable character with this build for less than 50c. 5. Join mapping parties/guild parties/other 40-challenge friends and try to get 100+ atlas completion in the first few days. I find this is the tipping point for good map returns. Don't be afraid to buy the odd map to complete atlas. 6. Once you reach maps, remember to push delve as soon as your sulphite fills. The XP gains are pretty good. City zones can drop a lot of maps! And you occasionally get lucky with rare fossil nodes and other rare items. 7. Make friends. You will meet the same group of people doing Endgame grinds and the Map grind challenge. You can build a good network of like-minded people who are also grinding for 40. 8. Play. A lot. 🔰🌀✨ Video guides on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/KayGaming ✨🌀🔰

" Great! I'm glad it was an enjoyable introduction to PoE. Keep an eye on the build guide as we near the start of the new league. I'll update the build guide shortly after patch notes hit. Also, keep an eyen on the guide during the league as well, as I will keep the updates flowing as people add their experiences and suggestions. 🔰🌀✨ Video guides on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/KayGaming ✨🌀🔰

" Thank you for the work done and the one to come. |

" So hard capped Occultist resistances? And what better: Occultist or Necromancer (in terms of survival, cost, endgame boss kill, etc.)? |
|
I wonder if replacing skellies on the "trigger" wand with Decoy Totem is a good idea to improve survivability. Vaal Skellies could replace the faster casting linked with Flame Dash (We already have cast speed from tree and Haste, and maybe from wand).

" It's really hard to say at this time. My feeling is a life-based necro is easier and cheaper to gear. Also, life flasks can give instant heals on demand. Damage is also highest with the Necro or you can dial back the damage and get more defenses. Life build does have a lower eHP compared to Occultist, though. Occultist seems to have an advantage at mapping (and probably delve) because Profane Bloom and Vile Bastion proc'ing off minions. The main problem I see at the moment is against bosses, especially after taking a bit hit and you need to wait 1-2s for recharge to start. Also because we focus on ES, we can't take Acrobatics/Phase (30% reduced ES), so we lose the dodge. Crafting faster recharge means not crafting -mana (unless multi craft). And it's possible to get faster recharge on a watcher's eye, but that requires discipline, so you lose either haste or zealotry. Saying all that, I played two leagues with a hybrid necro, so I can say that the recharge delay isn't a major problem in boss fights if you know what you're doing. 🔰🌀✨ Video guides on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/KayGaming ✨🌀🔰

" I think that's a valid option. I'm starting to feel that the vaal skeletons add too much clutter to the screen as well. Having just 4 spectres and your necro makes it easier to see what is happening. I might leave the 3rd slot open and offer people some suggestions that they can play around with. 🔰🌀✨ Video guides on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/KayGaming ✨🌀🔰

Long time summoner here, played one almost every league since domination. Tried this one during synthesis and I have to say it's awesome. This, max block SG's and the cyclone summoner are my favorites so far. I am looking forward to the occulist variant for legion. I'll be checking here often, specially after patch notes to see what you've come up with. Thanks for all the work you put into this!
