Anyone know whether or not Templar Tacticians spells deal area damage?

Trying to make some decicions about supoort gems i want to use.

It's ball lightning so it has area tag, but I think it follow the rules of ball lightning:

"
Increased Area of Effect Support
increases the range of the bolts fired from the lightning balls.

Concentrated Effect Support
and "Area of Effect damage" passive nodes do not increase Ball Lightning's damage (changes to Area of Effect radius still apply).

When I tested it, I thought GMP (+ Faster Projectiles) felt a lot better for mapping. Lots of overlap balls so almost monsters get hit.

Shaper helmet mod Socketed Spells Have + Crit chance work on spectres?

Yes.

Some people tested it in 3.10.

(Blood aqueducts + unlinked Raise Spectre and checking how many crits the spectre got)

Thank you. Your guide has been great, and the people participating have been super helpful.

First of all thank you again for the great guides kay! So much work put into all this you spoil us all, please keep it up!

99% starting with this build so I hope they dont mess it up :D

Did the spiders build last league and had lots of fun with it, might try the pure spectre this one though just to try it out but havent decided on that part yet. Dont really have to make a decision til i get to maps anyway will see how I feel then.

A bit scared of how it will feel going back to the old crafting though... like the simple things like being able to easily switch resists on your gear, gona suck not having that :(

GGG always makes small changes to spectres or necro, but I will try my best to make the build work!

I also have a crazy idea for a kind of meme build, but I don't know if it will work. Even more crazy than Facebreaker AG :P

Someone can pass me

Primal Crushclaw and Primal Reborn Spectre ?

Another spell crit question

If I have my body armor with Spells have Crit, will that apply to the spectres also? Or is it different from the mod "socketed spells have crit"?

Bane is not a curse. Notice how (in 3.11) every single curse says:

"
Curses all targets in an area...

While Bane says:

"
Applies a debuff to enemies in an area, <snip>. Linked curses are also applied to those enemies.

Thus, Bane is a debuff, not a curse. It applies curses but is not in and of itself a curse.

In the description of the Bane is written "Bane - Chaos, Trigger, Spell, AoE, Duration, Curse" :)
Those are skill flags. That makes it a "Curse Skill" but not a "Curse." Just like offerings (Bone Offering, Spirit Offering, etc.) are flagged with "Minion" but are "Minion Skills," not "Minions."

For example in Path of Building, Bane is affected by...

Curse Cast Speed
Curse Skills have 15% increased Cast Speed

but not by...

Curse Effect
5% increased Effect of your Curses

If Bane were a curse, the DoT would be increased 5% by the Curse Effect node. Remember, in PoE specific wording has specific meanings. The word Curse there doesn't mean that it is a Curse, just that it's a Curse Skill.
Awesome videos and guides, Kay :)

This question is regarding the spectres and spiders variant. I've used the spiders before, but not with the helm, so I may have some facts wrong.

I was thinking to somehow use spectres to inflict poison, bleeding or other DoT effect, so they can count as "you kill" enemies and thus automatically create the spiders. I figure, if the spiders have a DoT that kills, the spectres can, too. In theory, I think that should be easier to summon the spiders, requiring no effort at all.

Are there any issues with that?

If it works, I have two other questions:
Are there any good spectres that have a non-ignite DoT effect, and are still strong enough to use late game?
Or are there any good ways of giving a non-ignore DoT effect to spectres? I can think of adding Decay Support, but would be a DPS loss.

Thanks heaps :)
I have been studying your guides for the past week or so. so, yes i have seen the video guide (all of them). I simply love your straight-forwardness and ability to communicate. you dont waste any time getting to the points and you explain all of your ideas.

I will be following the act guides, mixed with a little of my experiences. I have the build mapped out act by act in my Path of building.

i am going for the SSF build until i am able to start purchasing the more expensive gear moving into the specter/AG build.

i can get to maps in about 6 hours from start. i have already tested it from scratch, no leveling uniques.

my main goals to new league will be to get to maps asap and start leveling up my skill gems mostly by running maps and getting currency. i will be pushing the atlas maps, and the masters quests. Following your build i have been successful to act 10 3x- deathless and bewtween 5-6hours consistantly. 4 hours with leveling uniques.

if u want to level with me let me know :-).....shameful friendship plug.

however, i am still leaning on my original bleed-bow build (just because its so powerful as a league starter. But every intention to maining your build in Heist.

again, Ty for all of your advice and work into your guides and answering all questions. the community strongly appreciates you as do i....

It will work!

In version of S&S for Deli league, I suggested linking Lesson Poison. It's better than Poison Support because minions will scale the flat chaos damage. This will give spectres poison dot. The problem is less DPS vs a damage support. But probably not a problem for mapping anyway!

I thought about it. Use dot spectre so you can skip Speaker's Wreath. But the dot spectres are not good for bossing (low DPS). No problem for mapping, though.
