Kay's Summoner Memorial Page | New Guide is linked inside!

Hi when i should change to RS Specters?
Had a great time before with this build before the changes to max spectres. It was a really good and strong league starter.

My question is about the +1 spectre chest. OFC it's a lot more damage, but the endgame (at least shaper + a8) content can still be done without it with no pain? Since it's mine drop can't count with it into the starting days.
Kay when you are done updating the guide(which is awesome btw ty for everything)it would be nice to have some more info on crafting gg items if someone wants to league start and end with this build(and spend some hundred of exolts)
Having a mirror tier section would be nice to just have a goal

The levelling guide is correct for 3.11, so you can try it for levelling practice. Act 1 - 5 is new style. It's more general now and just highlight important stuff (mostly gem links) Maybe you will find a mistake here and there (please tell me!). Also the minions are all fire based for levelling. It's actually better and easier to level than Slave Driver!

Pro tip: use 2x sapphire ring for Merveil fight (act 1 final boss)

buy: iron ring x2
sell: fireball + iron ring
sell: freezing pulse + iron ring

Add a line that states that you can craft the rings if there are no sapphire rings for sale already.

For Act 2 i would recommend going to chamber of sins ASAP and switch to Infernal Skitterbots as soon as lvl 16.

For Act 3 add the Pro Tip - +1 minion helmet craft

For Act 4:
Gem setup is unclear and has a lot of socket pressure.
I would assume you use
BBBR RSR+Minion DMG+Melee Phys+Zombie
BBBB Spectres with dmg links
BBB Inferanl Skitterbots
BBR HFT(?)
BBB Curse on hit setup.

any more links beside wands and 2x4Ls is huge pressure, stand-alone gems like stone golem, convocation, flame dash also take space, and they are important.
For extra damage, using Combustion on spectres and self-cast ele weakness will be more than enough.

IMHO:
The final lvling setup should be something like:
4L Spectres and 4L helper minion (or as you suggest, Zombies and SRS with 2 dmg supports in a 4L)
3L Infernal Skitterbots
3L WoC+Curse

If possible, 2L HFT+Phantasms for extra meatshields

Stand-Alone gems: Flame Dash, Convocation, Stone Golem, HFT*(if not already in a 2L). I also use smoke mine, but its not must-have.
Big Thx to Kayella keeping this Thread here so much alive!-)
Cannot imagine how much work is in it but i guess its much more as i think of.
Take my Energy!!!

Trading DpS with Monsters for Loot will ever best Ratio!-)
Sitting in Town, flipping Items until all Gear is biS,
and get fastly bored from running Maps instead of grinding Upgrades is no Resolution!
Do we runt Fire eater until maps? Or do we go slave drivers in act 5? Or do we wait until att act 8 and swap to solar guards?
In the leveling guide you suggest: Summon Skitterbots + Infernal Legion + Minion Damage

However, Minion Damage doesn't help at all, and in fact it just hurts because it makes the mana reserved multiplier go up. Skitterbots don't do any damage themselves, it's only the infernal legion part that gives them damage, so minion damage doesn't help. You can even check the tooltip, you will see that their damage from infernal legion doesn't go up when you add Minion Damage.

IL on skitterbots gets the Minion damage bonus, even stuff like burning damage support works

You can do the same with all minions and check tooltip. Minion burn DMG will not change the Tooltip (checked for Skellies and SRS)

I suppose it is because it states *base burning damage* so it literary take the dmg from the gem to the tooltip with no accounting for more and increased dmg
Thanks for all the replies!

Yup thats the downside of Summoner....the leveling process is quite slow compared to other starter.

You can grab Solar Guards @ Act 8 but those are not that strong till a ceartain gem LVL (Same for Slave Drivers).

Means you play SRS/Skellis/Zombies (And maybe SG Spectres) all the way to maps and level the gem that way...or rush Corners for Conquer spawns to get redemtion sentries.

It wasn't *that* slow actually, because I could still keep moving all the time while my minions are killing things. I reached maps in less than 8 hours, which is a good time for me. Even if I did exactly the same again, I think I can still improve a lot on that time because now I know what I'm doing.

Pick up the sacrifice wheel. Pickup the regen node next to death attunement. Spectres should never die outside boss fights after that. Pickup up the +2 to minions in cruel lab is a must IMHO. Huge jump in DPS and survivability.

I'm quite sure I had Sacrifice, but I didn't have the regen node at DA (I went through the other side). I'll give that a try. Cruel lab is not an option in act 5 yet. But yeah, if the regen isn't enough to keep them alive, maybe I'll switch to Spectres only after cruel lab.

Your spectres should stay alive all the way from lvl28-30ish to endgame with a few exceptions:
1) Dominus Act 3 fight, Minion Phase
2) Piety Act 4 Fight, because of the beam.

In order to make them tanky enough you will need:
1) Indomitable Army, pathing through phys reduction passive
2) Death Attunement, pathing through Minion Damage, Minion Damage and Leech and taking the Minion Life and Life Regeneration right next to Death Attunement

A life flask that grants a portion of recovery to minions can also help, but is not mandatory.

I recommend Flame Sentinels or Stygian Revenants with the following links: Minion Damage, Elemental Focus, Controlled Destruction, Spell Echo; socketed in +1 to level of minion gems Helmet.

P.S. Sacrifice rush is a trap, get Death Attunement and Indomitable Army first.
P.P.S. Holly Flame Totem is huge quality of life, granting a lot of regen through consecrated ground effect

Ahhhh! I did not have Indomitable Army. That might explain it.

Thanks again, everyone! I'll update my leveling notes and try again.
