Bestiary as a Core Game Mechanic

glad to hear .. it was one of my least favorite leagues. too complicated, too many options, too many moving parts. I never knew if I needed a beast or not, and yellow/red ones t seemed to be too much RNG
Great news, thank you !
So .., Playing in leagues is becoming a great LOST of time!
Kinda sad to see this, although I only wanted to keep it for horizon orbs, prophecies, and easier flask crafting. I also like the crab set quite a bit, even though I didn't really make use of it.

Playing is a great loss of time. Unless you enjoy it :)

As much as I like Beastiary, as much as I hate-love the rolls some recipes give me (eg Talisman), as much I like the challenge of a red beast fights w some super mods & map mods vs my crappy build, I can concur with the 'complexity, depth & learning curve' argument. That it would add to that for new players MORE than they would get out of it (item drops, mini-boss fights, crafting, keeping up w the menagerie management, learning what beast to capture).

Beastiary is my 2nd league, and for the Flashback, I googled all the past leagues and their content ... which did not help at all to prepare me for the crazy hectic fun (SSF SC with a DIY Scion bow build)

We looked at the new player experience where we have to explain the core game, past league elements, and whatever current league is running, and we did not want to add Bestiary permanently into that mix.

I hope to see Einhar again in the future. Getting movement speed boots that easily and predictably will be missed for sure.

It always felt and still feels to me, that the rolls of the average beast craft (eg leveling) are too weak/a let down and unpredictable (even if you roll a shield w strength, it most possibly will be a shit rolled one, LIKE a random loot drop) COMPARED to the rigmarole you got to go through. It's like using Essences, yeah you get one thing guaranteed within a range, but the rest is random. You can essence craft spam, but not Beastcraft spam. Beastcraft spamming is more time consuming and effort to be put in. COMPARED to just leveling and hoping for good drops form RNG Jesus. COMPARED to crafting (& master crafting Master lvl 8) on good bases but one thing is missing. COMPARED to using alts, regal, chaos spam, anul, exalt way.

In that regard, if the Beastiary recipes were actually a good chunk more powerful and predictable, IMHO players would have taken it wholeheartedly and not bitched about (eg 'have to fight and capture this beast with my culling strike build to get a shit leveling recipe I will never use because its too weak and unpredictable').

I do hope to see Einhar again, as a polished reiterated outlier (as a Master) within the crafting world of POE, to fit in a niche: strong, predictable item stats, in an RNG world. You said it your self (GGG) in your Trade Manifesto, items are important for players. Einhar was not important IMHO because the majority of the items you could craft were not important nor relevant (for the majority of player base). More like a one arm bandit of your time & cognitive capacity, without the XP per hour gain. And you might even go home empty-handed.

Thank you, keep up the good work, ... don't put Einhar on a display memorabilia shelf.

And garbage like Breach and Abyss is retained. Sigh.
I am happy with that decision i rather have a stabile game than a game that crushes constantly
Eh, kinda ambivalent, it was an ok league but I was extremely put off by the RNG involved in getting the spirit beasts, was hoping they'd make it back into the core game in one way or another, maybe as a prophecy chain or something.

And Einhar could've been included as a Zana type master encountered only in maps, offering instanced fights against beasts that would end up with their capture (so no nets needed) or something, but eh won't really miss him all that much.

Looking forward to what comes next tho, keep up the good work GGG
