[3.1] TRICKSTER Scorching Ray + Righteous Fire MoM Boss farmer 1.8mil trash DPS

Trying this build out and because I am a hipster I'm SSFBTW. Is it better to farm The Sun div card for the RotP or try to chance it? Also, do I even need RotP after the nerf or is a there better option?

Is this still viable for 3.5 Betrayal?

was really digging around for a scorching ray build because i wanted to try the skill - but honestly it just leaves me wondering, why?

im not sure why i'd run scorching ray over something like caustic arrow or the new soulrend. their damage is higher than scorching ray with significantly less investment and ramp up.

its a damn shame. chaos damage right now is in just such a great spot i feel skills like scorching ray are being left in the dust. sure you can still do it for lawls, but it doesn't seem to be on the same page in terms of power right now since the new non chaos damage over time multiplier was introduced in the passive tree, jewels, and crafting options.
