Animate guardians do not have 40% base resists as the guide says, according to wiki its 25% and I have tested it. My animate guardian used to take tons of damage from phoenix boss when I geared him with 35% all res gear. Next AG I tried to give him more resists and now he can face tank phoenix boss

Phoenix uses Fire Bomb skill that decrease fire res by 50%
You should always overcap resistances to be saved from things like this or elemental weakness

yeah I was wondering about this too, because the wiki itself claims that the animate guardian has 40% base resistances; I'm not sure wheter we should cap chaos resists, though.
so the animate guardian as well suffers from debuffs like players.
luckily, the solar guards already have 75% base fire resistances in case we're going for them instead of the vanguards agains the phoenix :D
Did burning spectres in abyss and cleared all content in the game except hall of grandmasters. Did it again in bestiality league as my league starter. Made one change this time as an experiment and I love it so far. As part of my leveling setup I had a 3 link skele totem in a wand, and I liked having it so much that later on I made a skeleton spell totem in a hungry loop ring with spell totem-minion life-blind-culling strike in the ring with a 20/20 summon skeleton in the socket. 1 button click gives me 9 extra meat shields (8 skeles + the totem), that are continuously spammed right on top of the monsters, and that blind and cull bosses. It did make it a bit harder to get overcapped resistances, but overall, i've found it to be a very good layer added to my various layers of defense. It's a tanky build, and this makes it even tankier. :D
Very interesting option! I'll give it a try, but I have culling strike on the Scourge, so which support gem do you recommend on the hungry loop instead of culling strike?
Is anyone using a non-MoM version of this build? If so I would appreciate PoB! :) Just cause then you could have an aura or two at the same time without worrying of losing survivability.
Also is victarios charity worth it without necromantic aegis?

My guarduan easily facetank phoenix, shaper and t15 elder
Would check him with uber atziri in a week and uber elder (when I would reach him, currently I am on 13/15 fragments) and would write results here.
My AG setup is:

Chest: Icetomb
Gloves: Some rare with good health and res
Boots: Rainbowstride
Weapon: Double Dyadus
So, he is very highly overcapped with resistances, even too much. Maybe I should change his boots with victario flight's to boost my own movement speed or with some good boots with high life roll, but actually he just do what he should to do - boost my TV's damage and stay alive

do you think that the AG can survive even without a "+ X" level of socketed minion gems in the helmet?
also, I was thinking of swapping icetomb with ambu's charge (for free endurance charges along with BoR effect) and dyadus with dying breath only for mapping with solar guards, because I'm not sure that solar guards can apply burning to bosses with their skill and elemental focus linked...
