One more question. I saw your stuff (dunno how to make my profile pubilic ;d), and saw that you got special link in helmet for TV. I got Vis Mortis and gem it for SG, but don't have chance for now to make links for TV, is it worth to go 3SG + 1TV or just go 4 SG?
Hi. Thanks for the build and great thread. Has been a major help for me learning spectres in 3.0 and 3.1

My question, Is is there anyway to figure out actual per spectre dps?

Asking because I crafted a pretty good helm to use with TV.

So I copied the idea from the OP using 2 TV and 2 Solarguards. And while the map clear is nice, I'm trying to understand if the 2 TVs are better than the 3 TV from a Vis 6-Link.

I mainly do guardians/shaper on this character and just trying to optimize dps a bit if the boss dps is same or slightly worse. Otherwise, I would probably try and sell the helm and go back to my Skullhead.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance.

how much did you guys spend on your elder/shaped helmets?

what would be a decent price to pay for one?

Im looking at one with the 3 desired stats with 80 to life and he's asking for 8 ex. Is that too high? too low? not sure if the investment is worth it. Perhaps someone with one of these helms can shed some light on this. Thanks
Best build I have tried through my years of playing. Started running maps at late 60s and cleared tier 14s before I hit 75 without dying.

Running two 7-linked Tukohama Vanguard & two 6-linked solar guards in hybrid build. 79% fire resist, 78% cold and lightning resist. If anyone is curious you can check out my gear on Abyss character called PolterFeisty. Passives have followed this guide 100%.

Now lvl 88 and killed 2 of the 4 guardians without dying. Might finally be able to kill shaper :)

Thanks for the great guide!

I've been messing around with AG setup. I thought I had it down with the double Dyadus build. I like spending chaos on AG since I have it at level 26 due to

It's still not immortal (it may be once I run Uber labs a few times and get 2% life/mana regen enchantment on

Anyway, I've heard "rumors" that double Dyadus isn't reliable since either the AG doesn't hit the boss (due to hitting mobs instead or just missing from low accuracy) or the chill duration is too short (which can be fixed by Icetomb, but Icetomb doesn't boost AG survivability).

So now I've been messing around with the following AG setup:

Weapon: Kingmaker
Chest: Gruthkul's Pelt
Helm: The Bringer of Rain
Gloves: Southbound
Boots: Rainbowstride

Not sure if Kingmaker's culling aura also applies to spells, ie the TV's totem's scorching ray. I think it does. I initially wanted to get a corrupted culling strike on Dyadus, but I couldn't find one on the market or had much success vaaling myself...

Culling strike is really important in late-game bosses (Shaper, Phoenix, Hydra, etc.) since the fight tends to get hectic when the boss is at low life.

Also I'm open for comments/criticism on my char hobbes__ on Abyss HC. I'm a pure TV build. I love TVs and killing bosses. I basically only run red maps now (t14 and above). And yes, I'm using the Red Nightmare jewel for the awesome +9% block and constant 3 endurance charges while fighting mobs :-).

Thanks!

Honestyly, elder helmet is a bonus, not a requirement. You can stick TV in a Skull Head with Burning damage, swift affliction, minion damage, and ele focus and you'll be good to go for all maps and mods. Only time It's worth upgrading is when you'll be regularly farming shaper/uber atziri.
I'd like to try this build but it seems the original guide isn't correct anymore? I've been reading the last 10 or so pages and it looks like people are using different specters, gem links, gear, etc. Is there an updated guide somewhere i could follow?
most people are incorporating golems into the build for additional clear speed

Assuming you are using Tukohama's Vanguards and Flame Golems. The TVs have had clear speed challenges since the start of 3.1, the flame golems are supposed to fix that.

You took Spirit Eater ascendancy, which only gives you 30% extra minion damage. The other bonuses don't apply to your minions. :( Commander of Darkness gives you the same damage boost, plus a big boost in elemental resists for the cost of a level 1 clarity, AND boosts your golems attack and cast speed.

You have quality on your Blood of the Karui flask. That's one of the flasks you should keep at quality 0. All the quality on it just delays how long it takes to heal completely.

Using Seething health flasks for ailment immunity isn't a great idea either. You only get the secondary effect while you are healing - so if you are at full life, they don't make you immune. Also, Hallowed level flasks are better for Seething - they heal significantly more life per kill, and their total healing is only slightly less.

The 6th link on your VM actually makes a pretty big difference, and so does the 4th spectre - it's the same as a 33% more multiplier. Considering the cost - basically nothing - for a Bones of Ullr, why not pick one up and try it?

thx for the inputs. You were checking my Uber running gears, hence the bleed-immue boots. Regular map running set up is with Belly and Ullr boots.

Reason for picking spirit eater is mainly socket starving issue, with 2 Uset rings I still have no space for 2 curses which I was capable of, If I am gonna put clarity in a socket then I would need to take out stone golem or zombie. IMO stome golem is a big survivability plus, with taunts and huge life regen. Zombies serve me good too with their meatshields and 8% Phy reduction. Hate to loose any of them for a minor gain. And I am already 15%+ over capped in resis without CoD.

Quality on Karui is situational IMO, sometimes u would want to heal up slowly, sometimes u would like a sooner top off. I will need to test seething hallowed flasks out some more.
