It's just a good leveling helm though I am not sure it can beat skullhead or rare

Well, after two more runs, I think I've finally figured out HoGM and my earlier mistakes.

There are 2 main rules to being successful in HoGM with this build, without doing any special actions like changing gear/gems:

1. Wicker Men are MUCH, MUCH better at this than TV. It's almost always better to run around with 2-3 WMs and 1-2 TVs. When you get closer to the last waves of the wing, 4 WMs is probably the best choice.

2. The most problematic GMs are those that deal damage and heal based on CWDT. So, as soon as you see those, just stop using ball lightning, and get your Wickers as close to the enemy as possible.

That's pretty much it. Gonna farm the hell out of HoGM tonight, as a testament to the hours I've spent earlier this league, wiping there.

Thanks, let's hope they wont nerf these spectres in 3.1

hey!

can anyone help me out here? just did uber atziri and my 3 TV's died during the fight. the wickerman had to solo her but he was able to, lol. all my spectres were raised in shapers realm so i dont get why the TV's died. i even have minion and totem elemental resistance linked. i dont think the mirror killed the tv, it was the flameblast. what am i doing wrong here, why are my spectres dying :(

character name is localpetshop

would greatly appreaciate if someone can figure this out! maybe im doing a big mistake in the build but i just cant see it
I can't see anything obviously wrong here, other than the use of a quicksilver flask with whirling blades, and has zero effect on the problem you describe.

WM are inherently tougher - they have 20 elemental resist and 225% defense. TVs are 40 fire resist, zero for the rest, but only 143% defense.

So your TVs are absolutely maxed on fire resist. 40 implicit, 52 from the gem, 20 from Commander of Darkness, 16 from Herd of the Flock. That's 128 fire resist. That's plenty.

I'm absolutely shooting in the dark here... Bone offering up? Using convocation to pull your spectres out of danger? Were they at full health and got one shot, or already hurt?

Feel free to message me in game if I'm on.
Thank you for the guide. Made my first 36 challenges cuz your build.

Wraithlord is likely to be the reason you wear this helm at higher levels.
any info yet about nerf?

Aha, we're at this topic again!

Personally, I still haven't decided for myself, even at the league's end. I've seen a 53245345 various 'WB vs SC' discussions, and those still didn't really give me a definite answer.

For me, there are several important factors regarding this decision:

- If you're using the 'OH SHIT' CWDT setup for bone offering and mainly use flesh offering (especially if it's 21/20) for moving around, you have a ton of movement speed in addition to attack speed;

- I personally can't imagine living without a quicksilver flask for things like lab (those portions where you get like 25% of your HP in damage if you use a movement skill) and quickly navigating through cramped passages where neither of the movement skills can really get the work done; but, as you've said in the post I've quoted, the very fact that this flask is used, means it's constantly getting recharged between packs, and not using it for moving (in other words, in conjunction with SC) would be a real waste;

- SC has lower animation stucks both in the beginning and in the end of the cast, hits targets a lot easier for fortify and you can choose the distance;

- The main reason for choosing WB would really be the fact that it doesn't get STUCK as much as SC;

So yeah. As I said somewhere earlier in this thread, I can't understand why so many veterans of this build use WB. I personally used SC on my HHC character that I got to lvl90 for the achievements, but I still use WB on this one because I was slightly lazy to figure out how to change around sockets, considering that my Scourge is corrupted and I don't want to see Vorici's face (and his crafting bench) after spending several thousands chromatics for my stupid gloves.

Can we please get some definitive answer? :c

I just need 1 reason to not use WB : I can't stand that sound.
