[3.9] Windz's Generic Miner Sabo (Arc/Pyroclast focused)
Tried GC mines with that old MoM setup on this new league. Getting near 4.2k HP with a 2.4k mana setup, Skitterbots on an Essence Worm. Mine mana reservation is close to 18 each, but the mana regen keeps it near full all the time. Clearing mid red tier maps with ease, though it seems like battles are starting to drag as map bosses aren't dying fast enough (everything else just explodes, tho).
Gear is: Alas, maybe Skitterbots aren't helping as much as a lv 23 Hatred would. Using a random HP armor with a few resists just to fill the slot, as the pseudo-6L helmet is already carrying hard. Dunno what else I should put in the chest armour slot, tho. ATM looking for a better Stygian Vise, and then going to the weapons (as I think I'll be getting the last bit of damage I need from that). Glacial Cascade still has all those conversion-extra-chaos-damage shenanigans, right? Last edited by leafyr0kr on Sep 13, 2019, 2:24:15 PM

I'm kinda following this build.
I am wondering about the end game helm. Would Starkonja's or Rat's Nest be viable with the crit damage for: Icicle 30% Crit Multi or Icicle 40% Increased Damage enchant OR Pyroclast 40% Increased Damage. Which is the best enchant / mine to use? I use Icicle for aoe clear, and Pyro for bosses and tough rares. Last edited by havenrl on Sep 14, 2019, 5:56:44 AM

Is it possible to make good old GC sabo in 3.8?

" Icicle crit multi is great. 40% inc damage is alright. Pyroclast, you want: adds 2 projectiles. There's like 1 or 2 ex on poe.trade atm. Worth getting an ES based or Hybrid EVA/ES based then chaos spam some until you get high ES, life, resist you're missing if you're going Hybrid. |

" Yeah, it still shreds. New mines, most ppl went with the new skills. GC is still viable, just a bit annoying as we don't control overlapping anymore since we throw the mines but it's still perfectly fine. |

Just wanted to give an update on my progression. I've been lazy with mapping but I've done some red maps and red elder in a 2 man team, shredded the dude like a hotknife through butter with Pyroclast. It's pretty fkn strong.
Though, for icicle, I did change it to Swift Assemble as I use it for general clear and it's smoother than with minefield. For Pyroclast I'm still using minefield for the extra maximum mines, 23 instead of 19 due to the Aura and I used it to burst down stuff with setup time anyway like Shaper. Edit: I havn't tested a Yoke Of Suffering yet but I think it'd still add some ginormous DPS if you're lacking in that department. Gear Wise, I'm at 5.1k hp and 3.2k ES. Why does no one seem to use high impact mine support? Every build I see is using blastchain instead, is it just that much stronger? Through my own testing (With GC build) as a QOL I prefer to have all the mines come out at once it clears quicker, the blastchain they seems to come out in sequence and feels slower to me even if the 5% more per mine is theoretically better on dps.

" Most of us aren't using blastchain mines. Tremor rods provides blastchain but doesn't trigger or get used if you use a "True Mine" skills such as icicle mines and pyroclast mines. There's better gems out there that gives better overall benefits, e.g. with 23 pyroclasts mines out at a time and demolition specialist Ascendency, Shaper/Guardians pretty much instantly gets popped, with 23 mines and high impact mines + ascendency it doesn't really makes much of a difference as it'd still 1 shot those guys. The difference is when it comes to killing random hard encounters where 5 normal mines with say conc effect instead of high impact would end up doing more damage rather than a sequential 25% more at the 5th mine and 25% chance to deal double damage. That's probably why no one uses it. |
