[3.6] Milky's Scorching Ray Totems (updating process)

This is a general question and Milky has probably answered it elsewhere; has anyone tried Prism Guardian + BM + Mortal Conviction to see whether one aura (and slotting an otherwise substandard shield) might be worth it? Maybe you'd need an Enlighten support too and that is probably too much of an investment.

50% aura takes 19% life, 17% with lvl 4 enlighten
35% aura is 13% life, 12% with enlighten

Thank you for again taking your time to help someone who could have looked around on his own. I was asking to see if someone had tried it themselves and felt any real changes to effectiveness or survivability, but it's not as if a PG is too expensive to experiment with on my own.
well you can just no specc BM and use a determination + blasphemy curse or arctic armour ;) why reserve 19% of the life and use a "bad" (for the build) shield if you can just not use BM, loose a bit of life but not as much total life.

On the other side, most auras don't benefit us much.
single element puritys are not as strong as ones of supports, determination requires good armour gear, grace has no synergy.
Everything is one dimensional for the defence, either your defence is better against those elements or only phys dmg... i like a higher healthpool more since it helps against everything and synergizes with the warcry heal and liferegen.

only some multicurse blasphemy setup with enfeeble + tempchains adds noticable defence, but is weak against some mapmods

Well the main reason for trying to run reservation with BM is Mortal Conviction, because running any reservation without BM could remove a lot of mana and create some very dangerous situations where mana runs out (even if you don't specc MoM). Plus, negating the need for a mana flask has really big utility.

You make an important point regarding the lack of impact any non-curse auras have. I'm just used to builds where auras are integral or very helpful

if you go chieftain with this build, will righteous fire totems taunt given the skill doesn't hit?

yes, i'm willing to give up the extra damage of berserker for leech and taunt cause i'm a weenie like that.

rf cannot taunt. dots in general dont work with that node

Just scored that one for 2c in HC, should I craft .2% leeched from fire damage to it?
Hello, first of all thank you for this build, it is awesome.

I have two question about Ancestral Bond.

1 - "Keep it and you have 3 RF totems for bigger area coverage, but only one deals damage to a target"
So if i use 3 totems, 1 totem will deal damage, and when it kill all mobs in area than next totem will start doing damage?

2 - "Unskill it and you can remove the Ice or lightning trap in your setup. Orb of Storms can now proc Elemental Overload, Elemental Equilibrium"
Are you sure about that? I use orb of storm, and when it hit mobs uder mob life there is notice "Vulnerability to fire"
