[3.6] Milky's Scorching Ray Totems (updating process)

It gains +1 radius at gemlvl 4,8,12,16 and 20. No lvl 21 is needed and reaching 24 not worth the effort ;)

Chilled enemies get 100% burning damage , but i dont know how to chill enemies.
For the proc i need to chill them by myself , idk which spell i should use.

Just get a plain old scepter with the equivalent of 100% increased burning damage and you don't have to deal with a wonky mechanic. It's not expensive at all.

Void Scepters have 40% increased Ele Implicit, then you just need around 30% each of Inc Burn damage and Inc Fire Dam.

Both of those rolls can go higher than that, but that's how you get to 100% easily. Honestly I think you can get a higher overall burn damage roll with a rare than a Doryani's now and you can get resists on the scepter as well.
PM me or find me in game if I win. It's hard to keep track of all my bids.

dyadus burn effect only works if you attack with the weapon.
For that you need it in your offhand to guarantee chill for 1 sec which is totally not worth it.

However its nice to party with someone who uses it since "take 100% more burning damage" is a huge multiplier.

While i agree that dyadus is impractical and not worth using (especially with chill immune bosses) you get one part wrong.

Enemys TAKE 100% increased burning dmg is a more multiplier and not an increae multiplier as a doryanis for excample.
Its a debuff similar to the vulnerability curse which basically doubles the damage.

However the chill needs to be applied by a weapon, sources like vortex, arctic breath, arctic armour dont work. This means it requires a hit with a dyadus offhand ever 1sec with low accuracy (or RT and no ele overload).

So its stronger than you think but toally impractical to use since we need to place totems, procc buffs/debuffs, dodge meachanics, loose a shield, need a gemsetup for it, need the accuracy and then attack permanently or its a dps loss compared to other weapons and i think it actually needs to deal dmg (not sure) which would mean no ancestral bonds.

Wanted to roll this build for a long time, so happy with the build right now. The character is the safest mapper I've ever had, I just reroll noregen mods on high maps, I like to rely on regen which is huge (I took extra EC).
Went with a 6l soul mantle, will try with L21 ST later. So huge thanks to Milky!
Hey dude!

Really appreciate that you're keeping up-to-date with this build. It's going to be my league starter for 3.0, what do you think about slotting in some MF gear? Still enough damage?

I'm thinking maybe bisco's / a ventors, and an item rarity supp. Any advice? :]

Thanks in advance, looking forward to trying this out!

If you wanna use a soulmantle just use a curse removal flask on a stibnite for excample, equip 2x ventors/andvarius a biscos, rqrity gem and whatever you like. In general mf gear comes with a cost of survivability, a damage loss is not a big deal on the gear tho.

You could go MoM instead of bm and fix resist with puritys if they are lacking due to the mf gear.

Personally i am not a big fan of going batshit crazy on mf, so stuff like you mentioned (ventors, biscos, gem) is all i would pick.

That counts for any build for me.

If the clearspeed (and survivability if you care) doesnt suffer at all mf is never bad to get. But if a map takes twice as long its not really worth it since alched maps grant some serious packsize, iiq and iir as well.

Hey Milky, thanks for the guide. I've been having a lot of fun with this. I have what I think is a super basic question. I actually haven't played the game in close to 1.5-2 years. In the beginning of your guide for Act 1, you mention to begin collecting scepters. I'm sure this is for crafting, but could you elaborate on this a little further for a returning player.

In addition, I don't fully understand the part with Searing Bond and a double Fire Storm. Again, as a new/returning player, what's the purpose of double Fire Storm? Thank you!

i didnt care much about the leveling section because 3.0 will change a lot ;)

Well i like to pick up those crystal sceptre, prefered 3 linked already to do one +1 firegem recipe for the searing bond totem (or firestorm if you use it). A 2nd one since i dual wield it, i usually just transmute it since there are no exciting rolls to get for rf atm (changes with 3.0)

and that it. With 2 crystal sceptre i usually end up in mercilles dried lake :p

you can upgrade em over time for better bases, but i dont wanna waste my currency and time for that since its not needed
