What are all those characters on standard (and the current league) using? They are using ES... So GGG is effectively alienating a large portion of their player base (perhaps outside of new league chars?) with the changes.

Read their post again. Those figures were for top-tier ES builds (and I'm not disputing their figure) while mine were for run-of-the-mill ES builds.

And what statistics are you referring to? Cos my experience has been that Standard has been slowly losing players (just try trading on Standard and see how many people tell you they don't play there anymore) and that's also what I keep hearing here on the forums. Of course some people switch as the league winds down, but they'll just get back on the temp league as soon as a new one launches.

Also, not all players on Standard play ES. That's not even true of HC.

I am VERY disapointed too...

I understand that you want to balance the game ... But ES is having so many drawback as well...
What about the STUNT on ES?
What about that people investing heavily in pure ES have no evasion and no armor?
I can just throw away my character ... and all the currency I have invested in.
Maybe time to have a look somewhere else then...

Never seen such one sided hate for changes. Literally every single streamer is anti these changes and the vast majority of supporters too No need to listen to the new scrubs who cant kill shaper with their life based chars on their 2ex budget. Listen to the people who have spent hundreds of hours working on ES based characters making them end game viable. That actually buy MTXs and Supporter packs. People who actually KNOW the game. Even ZiggyD is not so sure about VP/GReaver nerfs. GGG be prepared to lose a lot of players just like WoW and diablo 3 because of stupid "nerfs" like thesd.

you're not sure because GGG has never stated that 25 ES is an average amount.

where does it say 25k es is the average amount ? aside from your post ?

Well, I am not that much affected since most of my builds are life, my hybrid necro can afford to be squishier, and my int scaling character with below average ES rolls won't be affected AS much as most ES characters.
However, my personal opinion is that this is too much. One would think that you EITHER remove VP for es (I use a VP CI build, it's just broken, no excuse here), OR reduce ES values, but both at the same time? I don't know, suddenly my future (once this leagues FINALLY ends) kaoms leech/regen slayer will reing supreme over all my other characters in 3.0. And a discipline nerf? Why? To screw over hybrids as a cherry on top?

I honestly thought ES needed a nerf (and yes, a nerf to ES, not a buff to Life, enough with the powercreep).
But I think GGG might be over-nerfing it... All areas at the same time? (Ghost Reaver, Vaal Pact, ES Values, Discipline, More Multiplier behind CI) while also buffing life (hybrid life/defenses rolls). I fear that this will be indeed a little too much. Sounds like Path of Life to me. We will see...

I personally thought they would nerf CI to "Chaos Damage doesn't bypass ES" or something like that, as to not trivialize the "Chaos boss" they keep adding on each league.

We will have to wait and see... But oh boy.

having 10 k Es and a good outpout damage and max resistances on gear was verry difficult in SSf and verry expensive with trading in the game now with your brutal NERF playing EndGame will be disastrous !!
you should nerf monster damage also to balance caus without max resist a tier 9 blood pack can one shot you even with more 10 k ES ...
life build sucks, evasion sucks, and now ES will sucks good game GGG !
