It would definitely make the fight go a lot smoother. More discharges = more life gain from Kingsguard, and more DPS. But definitely not required. The only required gear in this build is Mjolner + Voll's devotion + Kingsuard. Everything else just adds more DPS/Sustain I also recommend running blood rage for additional attack speed and damage boost from frenzy charge. I've also used rally cry to boost damage for Red Elder/Shaper. I swapped out RF as I wasn't comfortable using it against those bosses.
