I have 1 problem with the build. Hybrid items are really expensive atm and i have only 3.4k HP and 3k ES and im getting 1 shot alot of times... because mobs and bosses dont target golems/ spectres, but me :D
Hi all!

So for the Elementalist - Pledge build variant, what is the optimal setup for golems? 6 fire, 2 stone, and 1 chaos or something like that?

Thanks for your responses!
I saw that pledge of hands elementalist has way less ES, how will it fair in high tier maps? I’m non block variant necro -5.8kES 2k life with 35%chaos res and I still get one shot sometimes by random metas or baran.
So for someone who played alot of the build and get to t16 maps + 4 stone bosses i can say that the build is really good till t16 maps, after that you get 1-2 shots all the time by metas, or map bosses. I try hybrid, ES, pure life, but none is working. As hybrid, poison/ chaos damage just destroys you, because you have low life pool and it baypass your ES. As ES and life, its the same, you got one hit and you are left with 400-600 hp/es and you dont have leech and you get another hit and you are dead for seconds, if you cant use your flasks. Another problem is metas and bosses dont focus your minions, but focus you. I try even with meat shield, but still they focus you. So tl dr, build is really good till t15 maps and its good even vs exiles with 4 stones ( the snake guy, destroys you for 1 second :D ), but lack damage and defences at t16.
Thx the OP for the build. It was really good and fun time, for me its just not the right build for boss killing league :)

@stoqnbg thats what I was worried about, Im currently in the same position as you.

Im playing necro no block version so I was wondering if I just went elementalist with CI or block variant with CI it might be more survivable but then I would really lack the damage to handle metas and T16 bosses now with the HP buffs.

If we go elementalist we also wouldnt have tukohama vanguards to do boss dps so I think that the single target would also suffer much more

Is elementalist even tankier than block necro?

I try all variants, necro block/ no block/ Elementalist block/ no block/ life/CI/hybrid.... Only thing i didnt try is with Shavs since i dont have atm. For me nothing work. I got 1 hit left with 400 ES and i must run like **** if i wanna live and recover :D its not ok :) But overall build is really fun and strong starter to get some currency!

Hey :)

Build has very nice survival, but it's not tanky in a way that you can rely on leech or armor to keep you alive. Temporal Chains makes most trash mobs safe, so you can focus 100% on dangerous boss monsters.

Base build has balanced DPS <-> Defense for general content, but there is way to customize it to fit league content better. I reach league content much later than most players as I have long work hours and irl stuff, so early tweaks has to be done by players.

Heres a list of stuff how you can try to survive Meta encounters :

GENERAL

- Try to spawn boss out in open place with lot of room to move (You have advantage to spawn meta boss anywhere in the map, so try open areas or open areas with 1-2 stones to hide behind)

- Treat metas as any other dangerous t16+ endgame bosses (Circle them clockwise about 1/3 screen away and only stop moving to cast when its absolutely safe. Try to let Temporal Chains and minions hit the Meta, but don't be close enough for Metas short-ranged attacks to catch you by surprise)

- Run when you have to and replenish EHP (You should be able to tank one big hit from almost any endgame boss with enough EHP. When you get hit to HP, run away with Phase Run and let HP and ES to replenish. Then activate Block chance, Phase Run and move closer to the boss)

- Dont be too greedy with Metas (If you have killer mods in the map, try to balance the Meta that you summon out. Players often reroll t16 guardian maps with extremely hard mods.)

- Stack chaos resistance on rare items (In syndicate players had problems with hybrid builds until they stacked chaos resistance and GGG nerfed Synds to ground. GGG will most likely nerf Metas also in few weeks, but while waiting it's best to stack 20+ chaos res to rings, belt, gloves and to rare ammy if not using Chain or Chayula)

- I recommend doing mostly block Necro or Elementalist this league as defense is in big role. Charity variant is great as fast map clearing but lacks defenses for Meta encounters.

DEBUFFS

- Metas are mostly curse immune, so use other means to weaken them (This included :

- Chill (Cold Snap or Cold Snan -> Spell Totem)

- Hinder (Minions have chance to hinder with spells abyssal jewel)

- Blind (Minions have chance to blind abyssal jewel [Tukohamas have also melee attacks, so do stone and chaos Golems])

- Taunt (Minions have chance to taunt abyssal jewel [Tukohamas have also melee attacks, so do stone and chaos Golems]))

- Block (Spell Totem -> Frost wall)

- Aspect of Spider

- Maim (Stone / Chaos Golem -> Maim support)

- Meat Shields (Zombies -> Minion life -> Elemental Army -> Fortify)

MISC

From what I have checked other thread and players, most problem this league seems to be staying alive rather than stacking enough DPS for fast clearspeed. I recommend trying lot's of stuff and swapping gems / items until you find balance that suits you best. Most gem / item changes are very cheap, but can have drastical effects.

Anyway, I hope everyone finds setup or build that suits their taste. Be brave to test out new stuff and check how players with minion builds survive endgame encouters ;)

Hi :)

I would run 7 Flame Golem + 1x Stone Golem + 1x Chaos Golem as you get most projectiles that way with great defensive buffs. You can mix 1-2 extra Golems if you feel like you want to run them, but in general extras only eat slots or lower number of projectiles in the air.

Hey :)

Pledge variant has extremely high DPS, so boss encounters are very short. Golems give great defense thanks to damage reduction and regen, but you can't take many consecutive hits in a row. Non-boss enemies are not a threat thanks to Temporal Chains and number of minions drawing aggro from you.

In boss encounters use the tips that I provided earlier in message and you should be good to go ;)

Hello there, i really appreciate the tips. I know how to survive, its just that i invest like 10-11ex in that build, and its not fun to die so often and to kill things slow with that kind of investment :) dont get me wrong i really love the build, its just not for the current league :) anyway i will continue to follow the convo here, but probably will reroll another build after i sell my emp level 4.
Ty for the build :P it was really fun for my 1st golemancer ever!

Great build love it.
For survival, I increased my resistance to chaos to 75%.
I also highly recommend the vaal discipline. Its active skill saved me many times.

Hello :)

No offese taken!

You provided valuable feedback and clearly tested all variants to find the best setup. I will try to add additional parts to FAQ later for how to increase DPS or survival depending on the league content and it's challenges. This should provide additional tools for players in leagues to come.

I wish that you find a build that matches your playstyle as Summoners / Golems can require lot of active kiting and won't probaly ever be very tanky as they have no HP leech and flasks work only so-so. It would be great if you continue to follow the thread and provide tips that you noticed during your play to other guide followers. Thanks for testing the build and I wish you best of luck in the league! ^^

Hey and thanks for support! ^^

Yep, chaos resistance is very useful in some leagues. Especially Syndicate and this league seems to have very high chaos damage on bosses. There might even be a valid reason to run 1x Stone Golem just to add additional HP regen to stop DOT deaths when taking chaos damage.
