You can use them as a cheap 5 link yes. It depends how far you intend to go with the build. If you plan to get both 6 links on bow and armor then tfist is obviously not as useful.

I don't plan on getting a 6 link belly because the prices are absurd so potentially i could go a zero link bow , 5 link belly and tfist.

i am testing it with council bow and 6l tal rasha man even with l1 gems this kills all in l5 map nicely.

Signal fire is good if you use a high pds harbinger. This build uses a death's opus and rare quiver.

Are Maligaro's not good for this build?

Currently playing this build in 3.0 and its great, i just have some questions.
I noticed in your lvl 89 gear post you switched to ice bite , added cold and ele focus for barrage instead of slow proj and added lightning, why is this and what level should i do it at? is it the better 5/6 link or something?

I used the combination PoB suggests will output more dps. I think slow proj + added lightning is fairly close in dps to added cold and ice bite but the latter wins by a hair and as a raider, frenzy upkeep is never an issue. I would encourage you to try PoB if you are not already but I expect your results will be the same.
