How important is it to get a high quality vaal grace? Or is it important to just have them level 20 rather than the quality?

Also we need to run two of them or would you say vaal haste is good for map clearing instead with just one vaal grace?
Does anyone else agree that the +2 rats is just not worth the huge cost? Starkonja's or Devotos would do just fine, according to PoB rats only gives me a ~6% boost in dps over a starkonjas or devotos.

Has anyone switched from starkonjas/devotos (2barrage proj) to rats and hugely felt the difference?

One can also argue that +2 projectile on any helm isn't really *needed* for any content except for endgame bosses.
I was running with a regular rat's nest until I got the +2 barrage and I don't really notice the difference against regular mapping up to t13. Can probably do t14 and 15 and not feel the difference without the barrage helmet, tbh. Just my experience so far.

Yeah for sure the +2 isn't needed till end game content, but I'm at the point where I'm doing all endgame content rn (haven't tried uber yet), and trying to min max the build. Difficult to decide between +2 rats or +2 starkonjas. The extra life on starkonjas is nice but not sure if the dmg boost from rats will outweigh the extra life

Well, if you're doing all content without problems, then you won't need the extra life from Starkonja. The Rat's Nest also gives more evasion and some movespeed, which in turn increases your clear speed. So there's that :)

And of course, I', operating on the "more damage can't hurt" mentality.

That's a good point. A lot more life will come with levels anyway, I'm still only 92. If I manage to get to 96 I should have about 5.3-5.5k round about there. Difficult to gain exp consistently, keep getting random occasional deaths

I know the feeling. I am in that boat at level 95. Can't keep buying Beachhead maps :(
sitting at 65% but just no real drive to keep trying. Gain 5%, lose 10% just feels bad. Also, At my level, I am missing like 20% hp nodes so I am still around 4600 hp right now.

I will probably settle for 5100-5200 hp at the end of the day. I was a fool and based my end game around my Standard gear where I had acuity and HH :/
Such folly!

My gear on HSC:

Farming has been a blast. Can't say the same for leveling :/

Still so far to go.

EDIT:

Forgot my Flasks

Yeah I'm the same, gain some exp and then just lose it to some random bs. I'm aiming for right about 5k HP as well which should be easily doable in about 1-2 more levels. You need a dying sun my friend! :) They're cheap right now, you should get one if you don't already have one
A friend of mine had similar problems.
At the beginning he refused to re-gear to a more safer setup.
But after random rips he changed gear to get up from 4.9k life to 5.3k life.
All of a sudden he gained 3 Levels (above 90)
Ran the most suicidal maps after latest level up... didn't die lol.
I feel like im pretty maxed out on gear/dps, so I'm going to try Yriel's 6link and Belly version of the build and compare tankiness, speed, deeps. My qotf version just hit 3.8 mil shaper dps with power charges, lucky crit, shock, and active flask. This is with life on every single piece of gear and jewels.

One single upgrade in particular helped my dps out A LOT!
Spoiler

:D

Only thing i dont have is good 4stat crit multi jewels because as far as I'm aware, they either don't exist or cost a mirror each.

I guess some advice would be, do not feel like you have to have the rats nest or tempest, just get whatever +2 you can afford. For me that was a lion pelt for a long ass time and I loved it. Life on everything. If you are desperate for resistances, just drop the atziris steps. Learn to play VP wander without life flask (but always carry one). It's hard to find cheap damage jewels, so life + res + one damage mod goes a long way. Get to 5.5k hp+ asap for guardians/shaper/uberatziri. Wise oak is op with matching res.
