[2.6] Flash Freeze Ice Shot Ranger

I have to get a source on this but iirc the ice shot converts first at full value(60%) and then the items/passives convert the remaining phys damage. Meaning they convert 90% (hrim 50, passives 40) of the remaining 40. So if we had 100 phys dmg, ice shot would convert it to 60cold 40phys, and hrim + passives would make it 60cold + 36cold + 4phys = 96 cold + 4 phys.

Assassins mark isn't really necessary since I will keep at max frenzy/power charges though my gems in my main weap(Frenzy+Pcoc)

Yeah im not entirely sure what is best when it comes to halcyon and pandemonius. I mean, halcyon wins in general, but if you are doing stuff like izaro then pandemonius starts shining(assuming i cant permafreeze him)

These would be the first passive tree nodes that convert aside from Avatar of Fire, but as far as Items/gems when using Lightning Strike or Arrow and Phys to Lightning, each does 50% conversion and it does convert full damage. Will be interesting to find out.

conversions are additive (aka 60% from ice shot + 20% x2 from passives = 100%).
Also: "For this type of modifier, the original damage is replaced with the converted damage. The amount of any given damage type that can be converted in this way cannot exceed 100%. If the combined value of all converted to modifiers for a given damage type is greater than 100%, the values are scaled so that the total is 100%."

What are pros and cons of Raider version? Is it higher damage due to frenzy or something else?

I use Ice Bite to generate Frenzy charges on Deadeye so they are relatively even. Raider does get some movement speed with charges which is nice but overall its easier to maintain Frenzy charges and you don't need a gem in your sockets which gives you the ability to socket another gem.
Hello! Thanks a lot for the build description, gonna try it out tomorrow .)

Got a question though:

"
4 link
- Cast When Damage taken - level 7
- Arctic Breath - level 10
- Summon Ice Golem - level 9
- Greater Multiple Projectiles - Max level

Why lvl 7/10/9? Does that mean I level up the gem to this level and then DO NOT level it further?

Yes, you do not level it further. You can set your own X/Y/Z maximum levels, exact numbers does not matter, however you should consider two things:
1) The more you level CWDT, the more damage needed to be done to you to activate CWDT, so you should not set it to low to not proc it every trash pack and do not set too high, so when you CWDT activates, you should still have chance to survive.
2) ALL gems linked to CWDT will activate only if their level requirement same or lower than CWDT, otherwise they will act as usual skills. So, as different skills require different character level on same gem level, OP set it to 7/10/9, so that levelcrequirements of Arctic Breath and Summon Ice Holem will not exceed CWDT levelcrequirement.

Until I can afford 6 link, what is better in your opinion? Ice Bite as 5th link instead of added cold or just frenzy skill as third bow skill? It's no problem for me to shoot it once in like 5 seconds.
Also, I can't really see cons of Raider. Deadeye needs one link or frenzy skill to generate charges, without it it seems that DPS and freeze potential is lower than on Raider, and Raider have a bit more movement speed = more clear speed.
One thing I see is Deadeye + Slivertongue + Rigwald's Quills looks really good.

Nice guide, looks fun and this is the first league I'm playing, and I'm playing HC so the thought of lots of freezes sounds appealing.

Bookmarked and will be returning frequently throughout the league :)
2.9k life gg
Here is the tree I'm thinking about going with. Basic Ice Shot build HC viable. Haven't decided if I want to do pierce yet will change if I decide to do it or run those boots that give pierce during phasing. Lioneye's Fall goes in the jewel slot below claw nodes. Those claw nodes are super strong.

Slightly point heavy, but I do this as a template which is always subject to change.

@Kulnan nice tree :) inspired me to look at a dead eye version (no frenzy charges) came up with this.

Same idea with Lionseye's Fall and the now amazing claw nodes. :)

Probably wont run this as a starter looking to try Slivertongue/Death's Opus so will probably be my 2nd char.

Edit: spelling
