Can you kill the Shaper with that fancy Skeleton Mage Madness? ^^

Looks damm fine to me and i will absolutly try it after my somewhat current Flamegolem try hard.

But for now ill try to convince a streamer to take a crack at it and the condition is that it can do all conted - hence the question.

I believe Shaper should be manageable with pretty much any build since it's just about knowing the fight mechanics and dodge skills.

Can you share the FULL build as it currently stands? Including your items, etc? I'm following the build, but I hit level 60 and I'm starting to get confused for the direction of the build.

Specially the part where you don't take something like 6 jewel sockets and turn into hybrid ES/Life build, I would like to know reasons for that.

The build was created via Beta hence the no character being linked in the guide. Also, I started the PoB addition in all my guides after this one was made.

However, to answer your other question:

I don't really understand at what point exactly the guide is getting confusing, if you could elaborate on that one so that I may make it clearer would be great!

The reason we are not going Hybrid ES/Life of any sort is due to the strength of life since 3.0. Both versions would work great, this was simply my personal preference of playing this build.

you mentioned temple guardians as your favourite spectres, but I couldn't access Oriath Square and The Templar Courts after act 5. How else can I get them?

Ok, most of the doubts are now answered. I'm at level 77 now and the build is running smoothly. The hard part now is perfecting gear and getting quality gems.

But a few questions remain:

1. why fortify over life leech for zombies?
2. why skip using Elemental Weakness?
3. why getting Necromatic Aegis? when is it actually worth it?
4. if running multiple "From Dust" jewels, would it be worth to have Spell Echo replaced?
5. are spectres here only for the PRoximity shields?

And the most important question:

0. What's the maximum theoretical dps for the mages, assuming nice full gear?

1) Fortify provide them with so much defence and the build isn't designed for zombies to do tons of damage which means less effect of the leech they get.

2) Elemental Weakness as a self-casted curse is favourable for this build.

3) Necromantic Aegis provides your minions as well as yourself with Frenzy & Power Charges, they are mostly noticable vs bosses as vs trash clearing you will be resummoning a lot which means new minions don't have the charges directly. However, you do, which means you can move & summon faster which increases clear speed significantly.

4) I doubt it, the Spell Echo provides tons of cast speed due to the "double-cast" the skellies will be doing.

5) Yes, they are only there for the Proximity :)

6) Well, this is almost impossible to calculate, without proper gearing the Lightning Skellies at lvl 20/0 will do in a 6L about 9.5k DPS whilst the cold caster does 10.1k and the Fire does 12.2k without gearing or any external approaches. The numbers are far from what you will actually be doing but it clearly shows that it's RNG based of what minions you get as the difference between a Lightning caster vs a Fire caster is pretty darn big.

Small note: Just adding Vics Charity puts fire casters to 18.4k without the rest of the gear or quality. Keep in mind that these numbers would go even higher when you bring in to the calculation that the lightning casters will be able to shock if you don't use EF.
