Bear trap is op

i like to ping arrogance in people and play with it. its probably something personal.

offtopic off.

then again, what isnt OP which can shotgun in this 2.3 patch? there are 'more' damage modifiers for almost every skill. there are multiple ways, everywhere to shotgun with high majority of skills. ice shot + fork, LA + pierce, traps + clusters, arctic breath + frost wall, EA... etc. block, dodge is beyond beeing useful. we just abuse lack of serious programming in game and call it skill and sometimes we get arrogant about it. isnt that too silly? i have 15kES and you were hitting me for 14k yesterday with traps. and i was one shotting you with my pve tree from whatever HP you have with blade vortex(sometimes you). this just makes no sense to me. 'bear trap OP' has no meaning to me at all. what about, ''GGG devs lack of programming skills'' is OP?

i was playing vs one of my copies called Ccup today, im amazed how strong spellcasters became. lvl 88 BV with
totally owns every other attack based crit builds easily.

And then this happen.
Bear Trap itself isn't OP, cluster trap and hair trigger makes it so.
That is the case when pvp penalty works good for single trap and completely fail for 4 simultaneous hits.

Throw in all damage nodes, all global crit multiplier and the skill will do 6k per crit hit.

respec all crit, grab some (230%) trap trigger radius, add cluster trap: whoa! non crit trap set deal up to 15k impact damage.

leave bear trap alone, make hair trigger limited to 1.
Problem: impostor syndrome
Solution: nerf everything
Result: depressing mess

except all other traps get sort of shit on by block and dodge

Lightning trap can kill 75% spell dodge build in 1 trap set just like if it 'shit on dodge' too.
Since inquisitor exist and crit cap is so easily achievable - secondary damage isn't an actual problem. cluster trap is.

I don't like bear trap mechanic too, the skill effectiveness based on shitty pvp penalty, skill itself is fine.
its like you say 'nerf vortex' but its nothing wrong with vortex, all it needs is T constant for DoT part.

The difference is though that lightning trap requires you to be a crit based inquisitor whereas bear trap deals deadly damage with any asc class and doesnt require you to spec into anything but utility and defense from gear/tree and most importantly, it allows you to go pathfinder

So yeah, both skills can be deadly but the other one has to go full dmg tree/items to actually become deadly

But it's true indeed, cluster traps is what enables all trap builds (most importantly the gem not changing the t-value of the main skill). Traps are and have always been garbage without that support gem.

Wait a minute, you guys are serious about bear trap ? A skill with almost no range in a meta where every "serious" builds try to offscreen each other ?
