Mechanical Questions Thread

As of 3.4, Secondary Damage can be blocked/evaded. Does this includes sources of secondary damage taken (Scold/EoI/Loop)?
Two Questions:

Will the Sentinels from Dominating Blow also Crusade Slam if you have the Guardian's Unwavering Crusade Acendancy node? Or does the skill only apply to the Herald of Purity Sentinels?

Spoiler

Added a new notable which requires Radiant Crusade -- Unwavering Crusade: Summoned Sentinels use Crusade Slam, 100% increased Minion Accuracy Rating, Minions Intimidate Enemies for 4 seconds on Hit, and if you've Hit an Enemy Recently, you and nearby Allies Regenerate 3% of Life per second. The passive leading to this notable grants 14% increased Armour, 6% increased Maximum Energy Shield, and Minions deal 10% increased Damage.

When you hit an enemy with Dominating Blow, you will apply a debuff for a short duration. If a non-unique enemy dies while affected by the debuff, its corpse will be consumed, and a Sentinel of Dominance minion with the same rarity and mods will be summoned.

If you have the "Spiritual Aid" keystone which grants you 'increases to minion damage affect you', would a mod on an Abyss jewel that says "20% increased minion damage if you've used a minion skill recently" increase your damage?
With the release of 3.4 secondary damage can be blocked, dodged and evaded. So how does monster evasion interact with the explosions of Explosive Arrow after this change? Do I need accuracy now to make sure the explosions hit? If yes, does the Resolute Technique keystone work with it?

Does an Animated Guardian have a mana pool? If so, how big is it? Does it regenerate, and how quickly?

If I put a Dance of the Offered on my Guardian, how long will it keep the Onslaught buff? What about Omeyocan? Can it make use of Cloak of Defiance?

All I can tell you for sure is that minions do have mana, and for certain minions (notably some spectres) mana is a limiting factor in how often they can cast their skills.

I am guessing that the only skill an Animated Guardian uses is Default Attack; if that is the case it will not use any mana unless you do weird things. I don't believe there is any way to restore mana to an ally other than just giving them mana regeneration (including things like the Clarity aura).

With Dance of the Offered or Omeyocan, the Guardian will have Onslaught as long as it is not on low mana. If the Guardian's mana regeneration rate is more than 30-40/sec (resp. 7%/sec), this will be effectively permanent. If it is less than that, it will be some relatively short finite interval after you enter a map and then no more.

Cloak of Defiance should work; both the keystone and the separate damage redirection.

Once again, most of the above is an educated guess: if you experiment with this more and find out something new or contradicting something I wrote, please let me know!

Secondary damage not dealt by an attack or spell skill cannot be blocked.

Yes (of course assuming you have actually used a minion skill recently).

I am not sure about the Sentinel question, sorry. We will have to see.

Yes to both questions.

thanks for the clarification, well explained.
How will Spiritual Aid and Spiritual Command interact with the Necromancer passive Commander of Darkness? Will the Necromancer gain double the buffs since she inherits the buffs to the minions as well?

Commander of Darkness gives bonuses to Allies, not to Minions. It will not be affected by the new passives.

Yes, Minions are Allies and do benefit from CoD bonuses; but Spiritual Aid/Command specifically only transfer modifiers that are "increased/reduced minion damage" or "increased/reduced minion attack speed".
Hey there, I have a kind of disembiguation question.

on the wiki I read the following :

"

For example, the mod #% of Elemental Damage as Extra Chaos Damage would instead translate to:

#% of Lightning Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
#% of Cold Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
#% of Fire Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
And the mod #% of Non-Chaos Damage as Extra Chaos Damage would instead translate to:

#% of Physical Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
#% of Lightning Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
#% of Cold Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
#% of Fire Damage as Extra Chaos Damage

Is there an exhaustive list of all mods that should be read as a list of other mods, as ahead?
Thanks by advance!
With 3.4 changes for bow skill from " with ailment when wielding a bow" into " damage over time with bow skills".

Why other sources of that like Drillneck, Maloney's Nightfall didn't get that treatment?
In order to get rid of clearspeed meta cap global movement speed at 100% but make all skills instant so everything feels great.

Hi,
Does herald of agony minion interact with minion passives in the skill tree, or is it affected only by virulence?
