hey what are the pros/cons over elemental weakness/projektile weakness ?
i play with ele weakness + EE and ive seen some ppl playing with poj weakness? is it better damage whise or just for the pierce/knockback ?

im a total noob to the resist / pen etc stuff
tl;dr Projectile Weakness seems stronger for general clearing and almost never much weaker.

Say a rare enemy has 90% fire resist (capped to 75%) and you're attacking with a pure fire projectile. EE will debuff the resist to 40%.

20/20 Projectile Weakness would make the enemy take 1.54 times the damage with no curses since "takes increased damage" is equivalent to you doing "more" damage.

20/20 Elemental Weakness debuffs the resist to -4%, so the enemy takes 1.04/.6 ~ 1.73% more damage.

So in the case of very high resists, elemental weakness adds more damage at the expense of the loss of knockback / pierce.

However, the situation changes when resist aren't high to begin with, which is vastly more common. Consider the same situation instead with an enemy with 20% fire resist which EE debuffs to -30%. Projectile Weakness still multiplies the damage by 1.54, but Elemental Weakness now only multiplies it by 1.77 / 1.3 ~ 1.36.

The second example is far more common since for monsters to get 90%+ resists requires something like a fire boss buffed even higher by map mods. When you add in the piercing and knockback, projectile weakness seems like the clear winner.

+1

United or Severed applies poison, which only comes from Chaos and/or Physical damage, the SGs deals 100% Fire damage, so the answer is no!

What lvl of SGs are you using? After t10-11 maps you "must" get them in higher lvls, once the desecrate buff is fixed early next week that's easy, but for now you should enter the "/global 6666" channel where we are helping eachother out with sharing spectres from maps so people can get them easily in higher tier maps.

Regarding the topic of Elemental Weakness vs Projectile Weakness - as far as Solar Guards go I'm fairly certain that their beam attack isn't a projectile one. So while you might get better damage on their normal projectiles, it is possible you will ultimately lose out on damage on tougher enemies where their AoE bursts are a size able portion of the damage. Didn't do number crunching, since you can't reliably predict how Solar Guards will behave in terms of attacks used, but just offering my personal input.

Flammability is optimal with your thoughts, however:
"Speacial Cannon Beam" as it's called is so rarely used that it isn't really worth bothering to priorities, they are almost always casting the fireballs, which makes the cursing more optimal to be Projectile Weakness as it also provides a layer of defence with the pusback & pierce.

I also tried using support gems more in line with the Beam rather than the projectiles vs single target boss fights, but due to the lack of times they use the Beam it was, again, highly ineffective.

I did go ahead and update the support gems to them by removing Controlled Destruction and added Concentrated Effect instead as the Fireballs have a small AoE explosion making it the better support gem due to a 9% higher numeric value on the "more" multiplier :)

One question:
If i have a helmet that gives me +20% elemental damage, does it affect the elemental dmg my minions do?

Nope it does not, I will forward you to the generic summoner mechanic guide video I made so you can fully understand how summoners work as they are far from similar to the rest of the game!

So, here I go again ^^U
I'm sorry for my spam, I hope it doesn't bother you too much -.-

What should I go for first? The Vis Mortis 5L or a 6L of my choice?
And, in case the Vis Mortis is better, which gems should I get as the first 5?

Thanks for all the info dude, and sorry for the flood!
First off great guide. I used to play wayyyyy back in early beta with a build similar to this but just recently started playing again on xbox with the new console release. I used your guide to catch up on 4 years of being away. I am probably one of the few people who beat shaper on xbox, before he was fixed and would continue the fight even if you died...was near impossible, just to give you an idea of how awesome your build is.

A few questions though
1. I run Animate Guardian with the standard leer cast, dying breath, etc gear to boost my minions. My main concern is survivability for the AG. Would an increased minion life or an empower with increased levels be better here? I can run my AG on some guardians but shaper is a no no.

2. I love Victario's Charity and run it on everything. However, would another shield be better to switch to for shaper and tougher bosses? For instance, would a Rathpith be better to run against shaper for the fact that you aren't really killing anything other than shaper and don't get charges from killing enemies? Are the 1 in 20 chance charges from VC better than 60% increased spell damage from rathpith?

3. I saw that you recently updated your guide to include switching to slower projectiles for harder bosses. Is this a big increase in damage being that it seems like many of the projectiles will miss because of how slow they travel? After doing the math it seemed like it would be a big increase on paper but it is hard to judge so far against shaper and guardians. Seemed like it was about the same speed.

Thanks again
