You would think that and I expected the same however I regularly freeze monsters with nothing more than cold damage, heavy strike and Resolute technique. So either there is some base critical strike percent or some magic happens. I think the crit strike roll still happens but is nullified when it comes to damage but in the case of freeze it still occurs.

Either way just wanted to point out that there seems to be some mechanism for freezing even with RT which may be causing some wierdness.

The only explanation would be that you have some chance to freeze on hit with cold damage.

For example Glacial Hammer and Frostbite has innate chance to freeze.

This skill should work with Axes along with maces and staves.

well kinda hard to "hammer" with an axe

Im curious to hear why this skill is limited to maces. It feels like the only reason is that GGG wants to give people a reason to go maces O.o
