Frost Wall

I've been using it with the supports I described and it's really doing well. Having more than 5 seconds of duration makes it invaluable against rooms full of archers. I think the reason a lot of people ignore it is because it's a bit too weak and unnecessary early on. There's barely enough time for one or two casts and you have to put it up again. Not to mention that you really aren't put in very life threatening situations at the time you first pick it up. It ends up being too much of a hassle to bother with.

I think it might help if this skill's base stats and level requirement were substantially increased so that you get it at a point where it can be more useful.

Oh and for reference I don't use minions on my witch if that makes a difference.

I think it should stack with Increased Area of Effect.
Sadly it does not :(
And i have not tested it with Concentrate Area of Effect.

I know it is not a classic AOE skill, but it has "size" parameter :)

it's actually a nice defensive spell.
It works well with shock nova to keep enemies at perfect distance but as mentioned before it still causes issues with enemy path finding.
Enemies on the "wrong" (path to player blocked) side sometimes try to run around it, other times they just walk away from it in opposite direction. Both seem quite OK
But sometimes enemies on the "right" (player and enemy on the same side) side of the wall also show this behaviour which is not that OK. They should attack me instead.

I also notice some strange effect of skills passing through the wall or not. If you're very close to the wall, ice spear seems to pass through it. If you're further away from the wall it doesn't pass.

That's because Ice Spear has 100% pierce chance in it's first form and not in it's second form - it's how that skill works.

thx for the heads up. This is the first time I actually noticed the projectile changes shape. O_O
I've recently got to the point where I'm one-shotting five mobs at a time in chaos, so this skill is no longer necessary for me. I suppose it's not really a comment on the skill itself, as it is on difficulty balancing.
I'm curious if "Increased Area of Effect" was intentionally not permitted to be used on this skill.
As an area of effect logically would lengthen , possible thicken too.
The gem "area of effect increase" does nothing to this skill in current form. No extra mana cost and no effect.
Modulate -Skullfuck , tune to play POE

Support gems are kind of strict with what they effect at the moment. Unless a skill has an area of effect radius stat, AoE increasing stats don't work on it.
All feedback after this point is for 0.9.6.
Balance & Design
I was tempted to actually attempt to use this as a damage spell....thought it'd be fun. Until I realized the damage scaling is horrendous and AoE supports do nothing to it.

Boo :(

edit: Come on, up the damage! :)
