Unique Rebalance for The Awakening

I make it a point to never equip a legacy item. As soon as it goes Legacy it goes into my stash never to see the light of day again. Problem solved.
Yeah...this is bs. I had 2 windrippers that i sold (some time ago tbh) and now the price is 10x that i sold them for. I am pretty sure i am done with this game (at least im done with standard).

LOL hmmmm you guys just like to nerf stuff I see. Makes me wonder about even coming back with the direction you seem to be going.
Yes please keep focusing on unfortunate things and blame people for it...

Apparently you didn't need a Windripper, so why bother about it? I kept my second dropped shavs cause I didn*t want to sell it cheap and its price keeps falling...
Shit happens. No reason to quit the game.

Maybe that can be seen as encouragement to discover other aspects of the game (Temporary leagues). In those leagues, you will then think "oh, that Mjolner and that Windripper are nicely balanced" instead of envying the lucky bastards who had one of those mega-uber-op items drop.

All i am saying is stuff like this, with the legacy items, is like taking a dump on the economy.
I am not sure if I can agree.

You know, by my understanding, Standard is the ancient league where you can have everything, theoretically. And I play it because I don't want to play temp leagues, cause I feel those urge me to play.

In Standard, you do have access to anything you can pay for, and this scales to incredible powerful items. Neither Windripper or Mjolner are the end of this scale.

I don't see it as economy fuckup, because I believe standard should grant access to such items. And also items from prior temp leagues. You have all the options you can possibly have...which also means you are free to ignore 95% of all items.

Given this "nature" of the Standard league, I think there is no need to balance it. You have powergamers and happy farmers there, and a few casuals. Also, it is too late for balancing in a league where ppl can also run a +1000 HP chest etc etc.

(Example: The thing I ignore are legacy crit multi items. They only item I own which has legacy crit multi is a maligaro's virtuosity. No 69% crit multi ammy or such BS. And hell, I DON'T NEED IT!)

This legacy XXX is horribly ridiculous. Look at the cesspool that is standard now because of it :(

The worst way of penalising new players ive ever seen. Impossible to get any friend to try this game in a permanent league because of it. :(

Sorry but how does this affect a new player?

The assumption is that all new players will play on Standard league and also will feel an uncontrollable compulsion to only build around legacy items they cannot ever acquire. Thus they will spiral downward into worsening insanity as what they want is always out of reach, only to finally acquire it and then realize it was all for nothing. In the end, they throw themselves into a pit of wild Kiwis to end it all.

The rest of us will just play on the 4 month leagues.

Where should the new players play right now then in your opinion?

Most of the ppl I know want to be able to be the best they can be. But when they have to get items for 100 ex + they quickly refuses to play the game. They are not the kind of ppl who find it funny to run around on a budget build and suck ass all day long with no chance to ever make it into the big league.

If there always was a 4 month league up this wouldnt be an issue but as it is now...
Sweet changes GGG. Bit puzzled with Moonsorrow change though. Hyrri and Bronn got such a sweet sweet boost, I am very happy to see these chest getting some love. Finally something that won't be skin transfer unique only:)

Zhatan - new players should wait till Awakening goes live and compete in new leagues. Making it big in Standard is almost impossible, you reach the point where there is nothing to achieve there, perhaps road to 100 and thats it. They can play Standard to get the feel of PoE, learn some skills and such and then play 4 months league and try to be the best:)
Paraphrasing Abyssus flavour text - "When you have acquired all of the Legacies in Standard,
what is left to do?"

Ps. Please, please show some love for Dyadus twins:)

Legacy? Oh noes!

Learn to trade. Get 100-200ex in a month, even without flipping. Play a lot. Buy it, but only if you need it.

I personally prefer the physical ranger route with mirrored gear myself. Glyph mark is pretty sick, and I'm sure the next mirrorable harbinger bow will be quite similar. The best part is that I fit my stereotypical class mold and have ~5 skills to choose from in a rebalance, so I know I won't constantly be facing a potential nerf hammer in the near future.

Besides, with the power creep in 2.0.0, there will undoubtedly be more, and perhaps even some max level raises over time. Many of the legacy items will slowly be reduced in power. It's just a matter of time.
