We even had a multi-post back-and-forth about this awhile back :-). In that exchange we tested this configuration in the damage simulator, hand calculated the damage, and even equipped the configurations in game; +3 Empower definitely beats out slower projectiles in a +3 bow.

If you still seem to seeing slower proj winning out, I suggest that you make your character public so we can look at your gear/tree to try to figure out what's going on. Perhaps you don't have a level 21 Caustic Arrow gem - that could affect the outcome.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think that is it.. my CA is lvl 19 atm. I am using a +3 bow. I need to look up how to make my character public and post my tree/equip here.

Yeah so it's gem levels.

If you were dealing with 20/20 gems across the board, you'd see that Empower 3 > SP. I think (not sure?) even unquality gems would do it.

Ah... I thought as much.

If it's a pain to recolor, probably just stick with Empower since you'll eventually want it anyhow once you get a level 21 CA (not sure how the math works out at level 20, Empower might be better there as well).

It is. Requires level 20 CE, VM, RD for the last 3% multiplier I think.

Amulet upgrade last night.

Was running a number of T13-15 Sextant maps with a friend when Haast dropped the amulet for me. The +1 all just makes me laugh.

that amulet though still nice even with the troll +1
switched back to SP till i am 20/20 across the board or till i bite the bullet and buy a 21 CA
