[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

How the devil did you craft *that* on day 3? I can see getting the base item, but 350 jewelers orbs and 8-900 fusings in three days? Or did you just get lucky on RNG?

GL! I snatched a 6l Citadel with the right ilvl for a shiny 1ex

saving for that +3 now while leveling an empower to lvl3

A few pages ago it was suggested to just use LMP aswell in the 5L Frenzy Setup, so Frenzy - Curse on Hit - Vulnerability - Greater Multiple Projectiles - Lesser Multiple Projectiles.




You might be talking about mine and Serlth's conversion where I was deciding what to put in my 6th link in Talisman league(I got lucky, I didn't go out of my way to 6L this set up)

There were a few options, but generally I would recommend:

Lesser Multiple Projectiles - helps a bit for huge packs, but overall it doesn't add much when you already are using GMP.

Faster Attacks - helps to get your Frenzy stacks up faster on a boss fight without adds.

Blind - I thought of this after, but it's like a free curse without using up a curse slot. Helps survivability. (I guess Flee would also offer some defense but probably not worth scaring enemies out of your caustic clouds).

You are probably past this already, but I'm still going to reply in case someone else reads this for their own build.

There is no point in having a level 1 empower in your main link. All it is doing is adding a mana multiplier to your caustic arrow, and not helping in any way.

You would be better off using a "Slower Projectiles" gem in that slot for the extra damage until you get your Empower at least to level 2. Keep the empower in your offhand swap set in a Haku weapon in order to give it the quality bonus to level faster. Once it hits level 2, then feel free to swap it into your main set up.

Do the ones that add damage first, so conc effect, rapid decay, void manipulation. Doesn't really matter what order, they all have the same % increase.

So, I ran with LMP for a while, but the extra two arrows seemed pointless on top of pierce, gmp, and the Scion Deadeye already has an extra arrow as well. At the moment I'm using Culling strike, which is limited in usefulness as only bosses survive long enough to cull in the first place.

Basically anything I've come up with has had limited usefulness. No clue what I'd do if my chest was SIX linked - probably sell it for a profit and buy another 4/5 link!

Level 89. I've deviated a bit from Serleth's suggested tree - I'm short a couple life nodes, and I've skipped one of the Mana keystones because I never run out in any case. Instead I've pushed out to the extra jewel node next to Dirty Techniques, which gives a couple extra Ev nodes along the way.

All 7 jewels now have at least dual damage mods + resistance or IIR or life.

My chaos dps tooltip is just over 17k.

I still don't have a +3 bow, CA lvl21, or Empower! I timed a rare twinned Strand map run last night, 3 min 47 secs.
