[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

I'm working the build as best I can, trying to squeeze survivability out of it while keeping my IIQ as high as I can. At this point, though, I'm not too sure where I should be going.

My resists are in the trash as it is, and I see every MF player using 0 resist gear, so I don't know where that comes from. Other than that, it's a question of what to upgrade, if anything. As it stands, my gear definitely doesn't feel "final", yet this is apparently the best it's gonna get, so I don't know.

Rat's Nest is not optimal. You can get better rarity with both life and resistances, and the clouds do not crit. Ignomon is also not the amulet you want to use. You can get a rare with explicit IIR, life and resistances.

That will allow you to drop the Prismatic ring for a rare gold ring with IIR, life, and resistances, at the very least. I don't really agree with keeping Sadima's and Blazon in if what you're looking to do is try to find a balance between MF and survivability.

You can also craft your own +3 Bow for relatively cheap now that the metamod crafting has been revealed. Check the FAQ for details on the process, and there's a couple posts on reddit for it as well. You'll be able to get +3, DoT, and two resistances.

If you're struggling with res still, Carcass Jack isn't required. It's BiS because it provides AoE coverage and damage but again, survivability is better with a rare chest with life and tri-res rolls.

You more than likely still won't be res capped without GG defensive jewels, but you'll be a lot closer.

If it were me, I would at the very least drop Blazon for a rare leather belt as well.

I'm doing a super greedy version in standard for low level maps (-75) and dom runs for the 2 chaos recipe and it's working so well
Ty man your build is awesome

Edit: i've got 3 troll gavels the last two days

First of all, big thank you to Serleth for this awesomely detailed guide. This is one of the few builds I actually enjoyed enough to take to level 80+. I've been running 75 maps with this build, and while I can mostly clear them without any problems, I am just not tanky at all and RIP a lot. Sitting at 3.2k HP with about 15k Evade, capped res, and 15-18k Cloud damage. Any thoughts what items I should upgrade first? Of course the Goldrim has to go at some point, but I just can't seem to get my resistances capped without it and Purity of Elements. Also, I'm using Fertile Mind to cover my INT requirements, which is not ideal either. Any input would be greatly appreciated. :)

Planning to get Herbalism next

This helm is all I needed to cover my int.

Your evasion is fine, largely thanks to QotF but the res balance and life is a big reason why I suggest rare gloves and a rare evasion chest to start the build until you get to a point where your jewel rolls and other gear slots can get GG to start covering off upgrades to either defense (QotF) dps (Carcass) or even more MF (Greeds, Aurseize).

Goldrim is your first priority to toss. After you get Herbalism, go to the last jewel socket above the ranger Frenzy charge in order to satisfy whatever other resistances you'd be missing off Goldrim. And also invest in a rare chest, something along the lines of this:

Which will help out with that as well. Once you make that adjustment you should be able to get rid of Purity, Fertile Mind and Goldrim all at once.

I would also recommend going with a pair of rare gloves around 20-25% IIR instead of Aurseize. The dip in IIR is worth the survivability. Burned portals is like burned currency. Every time you die it's like donating 4-6 alts to the abyss. Which might not seem significant, but if you're "RIP(ing) a lot" it starts to add up. Plus the increased survivability will allow you to push into the 90s for levels, which in turn will let you do things like add more life nodes from the Scion wheel, which will THEN turn into allowing you to put Aurseize back on later.

Hope that helps. Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I am running purity of elements and grace aura (playing tempest league). Should i drop purity if i am ress capped without it? And if so what other aura to run?

More res never hurts, but personally I'd feel it's better to have it on like a lowered res map mod or a map with lots of curses. Try it and see, you might find a better option in place of it.

Use clarity or AA, but switch back to purity for ele weakness maps.

I also started in tempest league with a PA couple days ago, I'm a bit concerned about phy dmg. Later i intend to get a LC (if possible b4 tempest be over), but for now, I'm not sure what is the best way to deal if it. Some mobs hurt a lot with phy dmg. AA + immortal call are not enough to mitigate it. Since I use acrobatics, my granit flask (82% increased armour) isnt so effective because this passive. Is it really necessary? I'm thinking about to get rid of it and try to look for some armour in items. Is it recommended?

Hey,

I am running CWDT with IC and manually cast enduring cry and i think its enough. Any huge spikes in phys dmg are mitigated by this. Usually what gets me under 50% is bleeding but thats what are seethings for. Dont know what second aura to run since AA will not give me much armor because of acrobatics. Need to test that tho.
