hello my friend, nice build but i have a question.
why is our cast speed cap at 5%?
This guide kick started me very well. New to the game and this guide was incredibly in depth and absolutely amazing. Doing mapping and learned alot about the game from this guide. Definitely noob friendly.

Catalyst for sure, simply due to the better Inpulsa explosion scaling in this case.

Replace the Silver Flask with an Atziri's Promise, you already got Onslaught from Ahn's. Also quality all your flasks and get the Alchemist cluster, this will be a huge boost. Farm a boot enchant in merc lab and try to replace your amulet with something that gives life. Keep the next 5L you roll on your Inpulsa's, use it and get another to 6L or alternatively buy a 5L right away and continue your current one, can always sell the spare again once you hit a 6L. After that, aim for a leech Watcher's Eye.

You could look for gloves with attack speed, or Command of the Pit, and quality your flasks. Can't see your jewels but if you have 2x Fragility you won't need a Silver Flask. If you try to farm the proper helmet enchant, i'd recommend to first get a better helmet, maybe a shaped helmet with Shock Effect and Lightning Damage to Spells. Could also farm a boot enchant in merc lab, and eventually get a Lv21 (Vaal-) Arc.

Look out for the +3 chain mod in mines, that one is really deadly with this build.

The issue is in your resistances. Haven't checked if yours are capped, but if not then you will keep dying in maps so getting them capped should be your absolute priority. You could replace Mind of the Council with a rare helmet and keep the Orb of Storms + Mana Leech setup until you can afford a leech Watcher's Eye. Speaking of this jewel, the one you're currently using does basically nothing other than giving some life/mana, so you could replace that easily. You're also missing both Fragility jewels to make Ahn's work properly. And your flasks are missing quality. These are the things you should focus on next.

Assuming you follow the SSF progression guide already, there's not much more you can do than farming a boot enchant and keep chancing stuff. You could try farming for a shaped amulet, then essence craft it. For jewels just keep all Hypnotic Eye from Abysses and try to alt/regal or fossil craft those.

Culling Strike on OoS is fine. Sceptre needs i83 for T1 Penetration and i84 for T1 Lightning% prefix, if you don't care about either of those then i76+ is enough to hit atleast all relevant T2 mods.

Hypothermia is an insane damage boost and gives about 80% more DPS than Faster Casting gives.

I assume you mean Elemental Focus. That gem would completely cancel out Inpulsa explosions while clearing, and you'd have to keep shocking bosses with Orb of Storms, which is just not a good idea in hectic fights and you will end up with substantially less damage.

Lv21 Arc is better for the higher base damage, Vaal Arcs lucky buff is too short and unreliable due to Soul Gain Prevention Time to really make up for it.

About your gear, get a Basalt Flask and maybe a new sceptre, your current one isn't that good. Amulet could also be replaced if you don'T need those res to be capped. You can also use a different boot enchant, the leech one does nothing since you have a leech Watcher's already.

I was talking more about stuff like Shaper or Elder here, things where you simply won't ever benefit from rampage during the actual bossfights. Bisco's will probably be removed soon anyway, Rampage had too many undocumented nerfs that make it much less valuable, especially compared to the nice fossil crafted belts this league.

Most bossskills give us about 1 or 2 seconds to damage until we need to move again. With 5 casts per sec, each cast takes 0.2s and we need to double that due to Spell Echo.

So with this we get 4 or 10 casts until we need to move, increasing cast speed to anything between 5-6 casts per second doesn't change this, it would only artificially increase tooltip while not actually giving more damage when it's relevant and reaching 6 casts per second would require absolute perfect cast speed on everything. So it's better to put this investment into increasing the hit, which also allows us to oneshot packs instead of needing 2-3 skill uses per pack to significantly cut down map clearing time.

Thanks for replying! I fixed my res issue by switching ''Command of the Pit'' with rare gloves (life, res, spell dmg) and my boots. Able to run t10 maps without dying at all and my res% are almost capped, haven't tried t11+ yet though.

Actually yes, the Watcher's Eye you recommend worths like 50ex, right? Because I bought a cheap one thinking it'll work but just saw there are another ones going for that price, think I'll switch to cap my res and get more damage/cast speed or do you think I should get the Fragility jewels?

Also another big noob question, I shouldn't get Shaper's ring, right? Because my Essence Worm it's not elder.

You want Hypothermia and some cold damage so you chill enemies, and with Becaon of Ruin you ALWAYS slow by 10%. And enemies take a lot more dmg when Chilled and Shocked. You can check this increased dmg in PoBuilding, in configuration tick both Enemy Chilled and Shocked.

You want normal Arc 21 because it adds a lot more lightning damage(about 100+ flat lightninig), and chains 1 more time than vaal.

Tried shaper for the first ever time. Went in blind, also drunk :P got him to 5%, did all the phases etc but didnt have the dodge in me to finish him!. he will go down when im sober, im sure :) softcore so used all my portals :O


I got to the stage i dont really die on guardians now so have loads of sets for shaper banked



This build is so fun I want to try hit 100, 97 atm.

is it okay to use level 4 empower than 21/20 added lightning damage? im confused
Could you use culling strike instead of hypothermia or is that pretty important to have in there? I mean I suppose if hypo is a must then can just slap culling on orb of storms link if your using watcher jewel.

Edit: Went over the gems section again I guess hypo probably is best setup I suppose guess culling in orb of storms will do tho.
