@bleachedgin: You don't really have to care about the proper gem setup and everything yet, get that done once you got your endgame gear together. What matters while leveling is the Arc setup, auras and CwDt + Immo Call + Enfeeble.

Try to use more pieces with life and resistances, it'll make leveling much easier. CotB + Three Dragons is contradictory, use only one of them. I would go with CotB, unless you need the resistances of Three Dragons right now. Colour your chest and put your Arc setup in there.

@Saranbaatar: Depends what you feel you need more right now. Dualcurse is more defensive, Forbidden Power gives more offense and you won't have to drop Orb of Storms for charges all the time.

So i indeed went with Forbidden power.

Also blew my entire fortune (25C :D ) on a Call of the brotherhood and damn that stuff helps.

Now to save up for a Lightning Coil, as i dropped the dragons headpiece and switched out a resist ring i'm struggling to get res capped on merc so with the chest i'll only need to focus on fire and cold instead of juggling all 3.

I prefer the safety of being overlevelled so i just entered merc act 2 being lvl70 however i do start to notice that i'm in dire need of some upgrades.

The more i play this build the more I like it. Still using Flame Totem as well though, that thing does crazy damage and can be a great decoy together with the lightning golem.

Yes because i think it will be a while before i get the cruel lab done i think the dual curse utility would be prefered above forbidden power, but i'm not sure so thats why i'm asking.

From those 2 would dual curse be better or forbidden power :)

I had to wait for Merci Lab to get my dual curses and I regretted it. This build uses two dual curse setups and it uses them very well.

Yeah the dual curse setup that this build uses made me think about th eorder of getting things
For now i did forbidden power

If i get cruel lab done i'll just spend 10 respec points to get double curse fast and then forego FP

Hello :) I started playing PoE for the first time ever beginning this month. It was overwhelming to find so many builds and such a massive tree. Fortunately, I stumbled upon this build and it is very very helpful. You have mentioned everything in detail including how to go about leveling and progressing through acts. While people who have played through even once might find it all very easy, it (including the vendor recipe link :)) was very valuable information to get me started as well as avoid making mistakes the first time around.

I have only reached A3N right now with my Witch. Looking forward to spend a lot more time with this game. I love the way you still take out time to respond to everyone who asks anything. I am still a noobie and almost understand nothing about all the comments on this thread (including so many Abbreviations :P). Maybe I'll learn more soon to be able to ask pertinent questions about my build.

I wanted to thank you for a fantastic guide! Since this was my first character ever in PoE and I started about midway of Perandus League, this guide helped me alot and I actually do enjoy the game alot and planning to keep playing in the future (the next league etc).

I got couple of questions for you, maybe you can help me out or give suggestions how to improve my crruent character even more. Im running occultist and currently using 1 Void Battery. I got about 15 spare Ex to spend on something nice in near future, before the league is ending. Is it worth goin for the second void battery in your opinion? I know alot depends on your clear speed and how you can keep your PC up, but vs some bosses with alot of hp and no adds I feel like I loose them quickly. My build/character:

I did my own small tweaks to the passive tree since I run atm 9 max PC and I could get abit more raw health from other pasive points. Also running with 5 jewel slows at 96, I think the max life you gain from them is worth it, curently sitting at 5.6k total life.

Is there anything you would do different or suggest? I was also thinking about a HH belt in the future but it's going to be expensive and very far away but it would actually help dex req/gain lot of me hp and I did some calculations that I can get the resistances from other sources. But it's just a dream atm that will take alot to acquire.

With my curent gem setup, is it better to go for +2 arc or 25% arc dmg? It feels like the 25% dmg is actually helping alot vs single targets like bosses in higher maps etc, when they dont have any adds spawning. I could always buy a high ilvl helm to try craft it with +2 arc but dunno really if its worth with lvl4 mp + lvl 21 arc.

@larsahh_: Thanks! That's some pretty sick gear you got there, can't really find any realistic improvements there. If you go for a second Void Battery, you could replace Frost Bomb + Inc Duration with an Orb of Storms + PCoC setup for bosses, that may let me keep them up for the whole fight.

How much damage is the 25% enchant giving you? The chain enchant is in most cases better, but as you figured pretty useless if there's no adds to chain from. Since those bossfights are usually a very small part of the game, i personally prefer this enchant but i guess either works.

Really appreciate the guide and your constant updates. I was wondering if you could have a look over my gear and let me know where I need to improve it. I do have a better helmet with more resists but without the enchantment. I know some of my jewels could also be better but I've been limited by stats (unless you think it would be better to downgrade gems) and resist requirements.

@Aussie90: Can't see anything you could realistically upgrade there, pretty sweet gear!
You can cut down a bit on dex, we don't benefit enough/at all from higher level Poachers/Rapid Decay/Vaal Haste to justify the dex investment. Get them all down to match around the dex req of AA/HoI.
