Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page

This build is literally the reason why I'm playing this game right now.

I've been playing D3 for a while and even though I really liked the aesthetics and the gameplay of PoE more than Diablo, I couldn't get into it mainly because there was A LOT to read and find out and it makes it really difficult to do that "as you go along". Then they announced Diablo Immortal and that was the time I decided to actually give this game a decent try.

After doing some reading and researching I decided to look up a build and found this one to have a lot of replies so I gave it a try. Through this guide I learned SO MUCH more than I would've by myself. It's not only the information in the build, it's also the references and the links to the external sources that explain things quite brilliantly.

I still don't know a lot (I haven't traded with anyone yet so I don't even know how trading works :) ) but if you're someone who is considering getting into PoE, this is the place to start.

Thanks Enki for an awesome guide, it really makes everything so much easier. So much so that there should be a sticky reference by GGG to this guide for those coming from Diablo 3. Awesome work!
This guide is a lifesaver! I just started playing and the game would have been completely overwhelming without this. I was wondering where I could find the dagger crafting guide, mentioned in the "how to look for and buy gear" tutorial. I've search the site and haven't had any luck. Is there a link somewhere I missed?

Thank you again for the amazing guide!

The Devouring Diadem looks really good for the build.

EDIT: Is anyone having a problem with Life Leech or I am missing something?

You're probably missing something. And so am I.
Only porblem I'm dealing with currently. The clearing is insane (dare to say I feel no difference from the last league's clear speed), I'm digging the EB's mana sustain since I could just ditch mana flask for now.
The only thing I'm struggling with is survivability, mainly because I have no life leech at all. Can someone more experienced check on it? Is it supposed to be this way?

Do you have paragon of calmity? It gives us 0,5% ele dmg as life leech.

On the other hand, I see a nice node, just for 2 skillpoints "Lightning walker" , maybe worth investing if we replace the helmet with devouring diadem?

Very nicely written build, thank you.

I'm having some pretty serious issues with squishiness. From earlier posts I've noticed the decoy totem, which I plan to incorporate.

That aside, though, I'm a little confused on how to incorporate daggers without completely nerfing my offense to the group. Mind taking a look, letting me know any thoughts? I haven't hit Merc. lab yet because I've tried a couple times and insta-gibbed to his essences.

I'm a couple passives away from the Aura reservation limit, which should help (use Discipline, Enfeeble and Wrath) but in the meantime I'm skipping Discipline. Also no MOM yet because I think it's too early? Lvl 71. Thanks!

No mention of The Devouring Diadem in the Gear section? Seems like it would be nearly the BiS helm for this build, as it lets you save (at least) 8 skill points due to no longer needing EB nor the Reduced Mana Reserved nodes on the tree - that on top of being an ES base and the other good mods you get on the helm.
That is a very good point, especially with people struggling to get enough ES early on. You lose a lot of stats an expensive rare could give, but 8 passives is a lot and should more than make up for it. Granted, I have no idea how expensive that helm is. I’m not sure if the 10% chance for skills to start recharge will interact with “recharge has started recently,” but if so that could also make for some interesting combos.

I am currently struggling with the survivability as many people have already said before me and I am pretty sure that The Devouring Diadem will be the way to go if EB stays in the build.

For now I have just stuck with only Wrath and Discipline Aura and put in Enfeeble and Cold Snap with a CwDT in one Weapon. Later with The Devouring Diadem you can put all the Auras in the Helmet and still have 3 Gems of Space in one of the Weapons with the Setup I will explain now.

I don't really like the Blind on Storm Brand. I feel it just doesn't do enough defensively. So I just decided to drop the Lightning Trap alltogether and replaced it and the Trap Support gem with Storm Brand and Onslaught resulting in a Storm Brand - Onslaught - Controlled Destruction - Elemental Focus to both get the Onslaught Buff which is very nice, even during clearing, but additionally deals a decent Amount of Boss damage. Not as much as the Traps of course, but enough to be noticable.

Additionally I can't really live without the Decoy Totem and have replaced the Vaal Grace with it because I find it wastly superior. Both for Survivability and also DPS because it just lets you stand still and cast Arc while the distracts the enemy. I would probably end with one Weapon just like the 3.5 Build Decoy Totem - Lightning Golem - Fire Golem and before the Fire Golem just like before Minion and Totem Elemental Resistance.

I would propose the Passives to be more like this:
http://poeurl.com/cjF6
And once you get The Devouring Diadem you can drop 2 Points for EB and get another Jewel or something.

Has there been any thought of adapting the non-ES 3.5 build to 3.6? Like others in Standard, I finally got some good gear, and could clear T13 without problems. I tried pathing out what 3.5 was to 3.6 in POB, it looks like my damage is about the same, but concerningly I went from 5.1K life to 4.1K, which I'm not sure is viable. I'd be OK with a damage hit, since I really like the 3.5 playstyle, the decoy totem, the immortal call CWDT setup, etc...

Trying to replace everything with ES gear, given how popular ES might be this patch, seems like it might take a long time for the more casual players.

No need to adapt anything, only thing you could try is changing Added Lightning Damage for Unleash and see if you like it.

Thanks Enki, adapt is probably the wrong word. What I meant was when I follow the 3.5 path in 3.6, it looks like I'm about 1K of life less than I was (with the same gear, jewels, skills, etc...) . Now this is in path of building. so it is also entirely possible that I'm using POB wrong, its a new tool to me. I think if I can get back to 5K life, and less dps, it can still really work for me.

For example, here is my 3.5 Char: https://pastebin.com/bqQHkX0n

And here is 3.6: https://pastebin.com/FjMhCvEL

is it correct that i dont have to upgrade arc when it has reached lvl20? should i vaal it instead?
Well, I decided to give this revision a go again this league. Seems to work fine if you pay attention to the changes, however, I did force the blasphemy links a little early and I don't like whirling blades fortify so I have a CWDT setup. I finally got through the story in about 24 hours of play. I have no idea how some do it in sub 5 hours. It's still stressful to play because I don't like dying and the setup is still really squishy if you don't have perfect mechanics. I died 20 times during the leveling process and twice now to the T1 map bosses. I have 3.2k life so far and 1.4k shield yet I feel like it's going to be a death fest. I leveled the 3.5 build to level 94 with over 200 deaths. I'm sure I'll hit my stride now that I'm in maps and have fun again but am hoping to figure out how to be a bit more survivy.

Cheers. :)
